I read threads and just can't place the names with the faces. I recognize names but couldn't tell you what episode or what happened or where it took place. I've only seen the series once in about 2 weeks time. Am working on watching it again. But going at a much, much slower pace. You all know sooo much about the characters, but I guess that comes with having been fans since day one huh? Power Of Xena

In order? That's impressive! It's hard for me to answer the question. I've never actually watched the series from start to end, though I hope to do just that with our episode of the week discussions! (Though it will take me -- hm, over 2 years! ) There are some episodes I saw a while back on TV when I was still a casual fan. There are a lot I've seen only once and others I've seen ... oh, as may as 7 or 8 times probably! (Like The Quill Is Mightier or The Bitter Suite.) Averaged about 7 episodes a day... and it was torture! Emotionally that is... I got so into them, they became a part of my life so watching the end really did a number on me. I cried off and on for about 4 days after that. It felt like I was the one who lost a love. Power Of Xena

I felt myself going into a depression(just a little) because I knew that the excitement of going to best buy to get another season was over. No more Xena period. It got to me. As for us knowing about the characters I think I can answer that. When I first joined this board I had only seen a few episodes out of every season but I didn't really know the tract of what happened. So when the members would talk about characters like Eve/Livia and Virgil I was like huh? I would watch the entire season that I bought in like two weeks time but after my adrinaline rush was over I would go back and watch them slowly. Anyway it will talk a little time to accumulate a vast knowledge about the characters. When I got here I didn't even know what TPTB(The powers that be) was lol or even when they would abbreviate the episode names like TGG(The Greater Good). I was like what are they doing? lol The point is you will learn in time and it is soo fun when you learn too. I only started watching because of a recording fluke on my VCR and even then, I didn't start watching Xena until the initial marathon on the Oxygen channel when Xena started syndication. It was showing the same episode twice daily and I found myself having to watch the early morning show then watching it again in the evening. Then I bought all of the videos and caught up with season six and watched it at least once all the way through. (Had to make sure all of the videos worked.) Then I bought all of the seasons on DVD and watched them again, including with the commentaries. Now I'm watching all of the episodes again on the anniversary DVD. How many times is that? Haven't a clue and I'm sure I've watched different episodes at many other times. If I'm at home and come across the show on Oxygen, most likely the channel will stay put. Candideyes I am a cat you know.

Most of them I saw when the show was still airing where I live. The only one I didn't see then was The Bitter Suite that I watched the other day. I'm watching all the episodes again, including the extras that I thought I would skip but in the end decided not to, even if they still don't interest me that much. Now I'm about to finish season three, and I'm starting season one again for The Episode of The Week threads on the board. Some episodes I watched many times, and though I haven't skipped any of them so far during my rewatch, I'm sure that I will later. Anyway, I think that technically it counts as only one watch of the whole series.

I bought them in sequential order. (I even bought the Xena trilogy DVD before I bought season 1). Also I joined when I was only up to Season 4 so when I read things about Livia and Virgil (and things of that nature) I'd get jealous I knew who they were because I read information at whoosh.org & read reviews at every Xena site you can imagine before I even got any of the DVDs a whole year ago....so I knew a few spoilers Didnt bother me though [when I finally got the DVDs].

Once as it airred (though this was down under and the huge gaps between episodes etc kinda made a mess of that) and once after I'd gotten all 6 seasons on DVD, which was probably a couple of years ago (I got the UK versions of the DVDs, which have no extras but can be played on Aussie DVD players). Now, I kinda watch them in "seasons". I'll go through an entire season, often watching them out of order though (eg Return of Callisto, Intimate Stranger (skipping Warrior, Princess, Tramp)). Or I'll just watch "themed" episodes, like "Amazons" or "Caesar" or "Evil Xena" etc. At other times, I'll just watch whatever episode everyone is talking about. Cheers, Haeph.
