I am what you might call a "newly-minted" Xenite. I just started watching the show for the first time back in November, shortly before my 22cnd birthday, and only finished about a month ago! Prior to that, I really knew nothing about Xena. Now that I think about it, I can't believe it took me so long to see it, because I really like shows such as "Legend of Korra" and "Rizzoli & Isles" that have strong (*butt-kicking) female leads, and a good mix of drama and comedy. And it was actually through Legend of Korra that I discovered XWP.
One day I was on DeviantArt, looking at fan art for Korra. As I was browsing around, I saw some Xena artwork in the "Recommended" section. (well, specifically it's the "More Like This" section, but you get the idea.) I flipped through a couple; the one that most intrigued me was this one: http://hazurasinner.deviantart.com/art/Travelling-Companions-283981278 Finally I concluded: "This show looks cool!", and set off to watch the first season online. It didn't take me long to get absolutely hooked. About halfway though the 1st season I decided I must OWN this show, so even though I'd only seen like 10% of the episodes I went and bought the Complete Series Box Set! (plus I'm a sucker for commentaries/ extras.) The next month or so of my life wasn't much more than one big Xena marathon. I'd watch anywhere from 3-8 episodes per day; I just had to know what happened next!! Eat, Sleep, [Work], Xena was my routine. Eventually I came to FIN, and the journey was complete. Oh, and yes, I did cry a little (and it takes a LOT to get me to cry for tv/movies!) Since then, I've been reading fan stuff online (forums, reviews, fan-fic, ect), re-watching the episodes I especially liked, thinking of my own Xena epilogue, and... I bought a Xena t-shirt. :P
I don't think any other show has affected me so deeply, so quickly as Xena; and I'm thrilled that even though I'm really late to the party, there are still plenty of fellow Xenites out there!
