This is not what you are listening to right now, not a song that has stuck to your head, not a song that describes your current mood; this is a specific song thread I've really missed myself, so I thought it needed to be created! What music gives you goosebumps? Either a specific song or a specific genre/instrument, if its just for today or it's a song that "always" gives you goosbumps, it doesn't matter. Share pieces that resonate with you so well, that you just....can't specify with words how much you LOVE that specific tune! And of course: Tell us WHY! - - - I'll start. The song Italia by Laibach from the album Volk just fills me with this unspeakable energy I really can't describe... I think it's so beautifully sung with a mixture of the Italian anthem and the "Laibachification" to it. At 2.10 comes the first wave of awesomeness for me, and again at 3.09 when they add the English speaking. If you've read the Emperor series by Conn Iggulden and really set yourself into the whole Roman universe, perhaps seen Gladiator, Spartacus and HBO ROME on TV, this might enhance the feeling even more. Plus that I'm half Italian.

The main reason it gives me goosebumps though is that the first time I heard it was when it was used for a Farscape tribute video, a particularly dramatic and emotive one. The timing of the scenes fitted with the timing of the music perfectly. Never mind just shivers, that vid can make me tear up... (Defying Gravity) Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis Oh Holy Night - I'm not religious at all, it's the music itself that does it ...especially if it's sung by a huge choir with awesome harmonies When A Child is born...childhood nostalgia maybe? Much of Phantom of the Opera 'Somewhere' from West Side Story....ahhhh...i die..... 'One Day More' from Les Mis Beethoven Piano Concerto no 5, 2nd movement..used in the movie 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' just a few there are thousands more...

Great track, very powerful Also This woman's work - Kate Bush Will not only give you goosebumps but it will make you boo, no kidding I gave it to my friend and he revealed he also had a little tear when listening to it. Very emotional, worth checking out.

The Man With A Child In His Eyes is also a favourite track of hers that raises a melancholic chill from me.

I can't describe how or why, but the bagpipe touches my inner essence, dances with my heart. Sweet poetry. If I were to be forced to move to Scotland, I believe I'd feel right at home. - A song that has given me energy since the first time I heard it; Trigger by In Flames. This is considered metal, I have no idea of sub-genre, but if you can't stand growling, the magical adrenaline boosting chorus is at 1:43. This song is really a trigger for me.

I can't say for sure though as I haven't listened to them much yet. I might give that song a listen. And ohhh I have to agree with One Day More (Les Mis) Somewhere (West Side Story) and When a Child is Born. And another....Most Nightwish songs give me goosebumps. Has to be the epicness...the theatricalness...I could post a hundred songs,but I won't...lol. The obvious ones like 'Ghost Love Score' go without saying. However this extremly underrated song is really neither epic or theatrical, but is very low key and is my personal fave. I had a very profound experience with it. I noticed they showed the Zodiac wheel on the screen in the background... - Hmm, I myself would have to say "Yeha-Noha" from the Sacred Spirit CD (Chants and Dances of The Native Americans). I would really like to hear that song without the beating drum, just pure song and flute.
