I know what you mean. I once stumbled upon a G/A fic that featured a puppy. My brain melted a little, and not in a good way. The only way to work a puppy into a G/A fic is if Ares are wearing them as slippers. That said, let this be a challenge to any G/A writers to actually work a puppy into a story without losing the darkness and true nature of both characters. The world needs anger. Jokes aside, perhaps it is time for a new drabble challenge, not necessarily involving puppies, but...a challenge of some sort? Perhaps an anti-challenge in fic form but without the OC-ness?
