Way back before the Twilight, I remember Ares and Strife lamenting that they couldn't kill Hercules because he was protected by Zeus. His life thread was
protected, and this limited what they could do to him. I believe it was the writers way of limiting the gods power since we had seen them do so much, and
squashing Hercules shouldn't have been a problem.
On Xena, however, this rule was never mentioned, and there was absolutely nothing--especially in the Twilight--protecting her from the gods. Does anyone have any thoughts on this Hercules stipulation, why the writers never placed such stipulations on Xena, and how this could have affected the Twilight?
Would it have been better if they said her life thread was protected by the GOL? Instead, they seemed to have the gods forget all their powers when dealing with our beloved warrior princess.

Another possibility would have been a stipulation, as part of the prophecy, that the Olympians couldn't use their godly
powers against Xena or Eve -- so, for instance, Athena could still participate in the siege of Amphipolis, but with the same limitations that would be faced by
a mortal general. (Which was pretty much the case, anyway!)
