Have you ever felt that you were born a couple years too late? Like if you were a baby in the 60's or the 70's, did you ever wish you were a teenager or young adult and could actually participate fully in what was going on at the time? So that's the framework of this question - did you ever want to be a teenager or an adult in a different time? If so, which one? Are there multiple times? If that's the case, pick the strongest choice and explain the rest below. What Time Would You Like to Live In? I'm so fascinated with the Ancient World, so much that I'd love to experience life at that time. But then sometimes I feel like I should've been born somewhere in the 20th century, I'm so out of tune with things of today. Well...not really but mostly just the mainstream. If only i were immortal and could have lived through out it all. From the ancient world to today. Ancient world - love to live in Pompeii a couple of weeks before the big bang, see Colosus straddling the harbor at Rhodes, sit in a villa dipping bread into olive oil by the Medditerranean. Medieval - for a couple of days, because ultimately I need modern medicine and indoor plumbing. I would just love to watch knights and soldiers do their thang. Those weapons were huge, and to wield them as they did, the knights and such had to be completely ripped is shallow. The '40's - because like Tom Brokaw, I believe that generation that fought the war was the greatest, most brave.

I thought it would be so cool to live out on the prairie riding horses, churning butter, helping Pa plant the corn. About 5 years ago, PBS ran a series "Frontier House" that had three families living in Montana for 5 months as though it was 1885. Even though I saw how hard the life actually was for them, I still felt myself still drawn to it. But in reality, I'd probably last a week before screaming that I needed a hot shower, some deodorant, a hair dryer, and a laptop. "I could sing for you" Keeper by Aurora Goddess. I am just fascinated by that period, though the medieval times rank a close second. Even though there aren't many of the creature comforts we have now, I just love the thought of spending time with nature. That, and the dressing at that time intruiges me.

Really the Ancient world through to 1000 is what I'm interested in and feel comfortable with, but there are huge portions of the medieval world that resonate hugely with me, specifically Ireland, Britain and Gaul post Christ. The Languedoc pre and during the Albigensian Crusade is a favorite as well. Life in every breath. Sine Gabriella, non Xena esset. Sexy Sais.

As much as I love the present day, something tells me I would have loved to live back in the ancient ancient times. Also tempted by the middle ages because we think of that time as being romantic, but only if I were a noble. The reality for most was a brutal, hard, short life. From the 60s on, been there. I guess I'll take the Jazz Age. Lots of interesting stuff going on just before the Big Crash.

There are a lot of choices that interest me, one being a wealthy citizen in ancient Greece or Rome. Maybe during Julius Caesar's time and long enough to see peace under Augustus Caesar's reign. The medieval ages have always interested me too and rather recently, the 50's because of my interest in their fashion and their Hollywood actors/films. I would have voted the 1990s if it had been an option. I was a teenager in the '90s and it would be cool to relive that time (slightly) more mature and less drunk. Also, I work in web development, and I think it would've been cool to be part of the first Internet boom, like professionally. The other decades of the last century don't interest me much. They're basically the same as what we have now, just with more clothes and less technology.
