I know Texas has a lot of fans, plus Dallas is a more central location then LA, Chicago, NY, etc. It would be easier and cheaper for a lot of fans to travel there then to go all the way across the country. If they had one in Texas I'd definitely go!

I agree it would be great to have a Xena convention in Dallas (I don't think they've ever done one). But PhoenixB4U, you should take the plunge and try the LA one! I saw you say before that you don't have anyone to go with, but the nice thing is that by now you have a social group to hang out with at the con (the XOC). So you definitely won't be there by yourself. It really isn't realistic right now for a broke college student like me. I was referring to the high-end estimate -- you can go for a lot cheaper than that. If you stay two nights and room with someone, your total hotel costs could be only about $100, and as Aurora said the general admission tickets are under $100. There are definitely ways to do this on a budget. I'm still studying, and it seems like everytime there's a convention, I'm in school. :/ Besides that, I'll never be able to afford it unless I start working, which my parents would never allow.

It really all depends on how much you want to spend. I'm not sure I want any more photo ops either but I'll wait and see who's going to be there. Also, one way to save on those is to double up for photo ops, like I did with elsie for Hudson and with skalpro for Tony Todd. I think they allow up to four people to be in the picture ... not sure if it's three or four. Two is definitely okay. Breakfast and dinner on Friday ran about $45, breakfast and dinner on Saturday about $40. Dinner on Sunday, dinner was about $20 (because I didn't eat pizza, not sure on how my system would react). Then again, I didn't have huge meals that weekend because I had so much going on. I had a dinner on Thursday night for $15 or something (it was less than $20, I know that). Breakfast one morning was $12 or thereabouts (and it wasn't even that great--my waffle was really hard). The other mornings I just had muffins that I brought with me. One of my dinners at night consisted of a sandwich from the store in the hotel (so all of $5, I think) and I had a lunch during one of the convention days with the con food they provided (so $10 there). So yeah, really, it wasn't all that much for me. Maybe $30 or so a day. I think the most I'd really spend on a meal at a sit down restaurant is between $10 and $15. I can have breakfast that I pack myself and lunch I can eat what is provided at the convention and snack on things I bring with me, too. I agree, I want to go somewhere else to eat at least for most of the nights, and maybe eat dinner in the hotel only once. If Lucy has a concert this year, I know I will probably plan on only attending on either Friday or Saturday so I will have more time to hang out with people in the evenings, something I missed out on because I was so busy last time.
