Yes, technically, I see X/G as femslash. But I also think I understand what you mean when you feel there's a subtlety to the term "femslash" beyond the simple definition of a F/F relationship. Personally, I think my problem with the term actually comes from the idea that again, it's a term for such a thing that's very reliant on people understanding the premise of the male term. I agree that in the vast majority of fandoms (and I am a lurker in a lot of fandoms) femslash is almost never at all supported in the cannon. It's usually grouped with other bizarre pairings that are only made reality in some rather off-the-wall fanfic universes. An example of this would be in the Star Trek fandoms and, of course, the Harry Potter fandom (mainly because there are so few female characters in the HP universe that it's slim pickings). However, in some fandoms, even "slash" itself often is thrown into that category. At least, about 4 or 5 years ago, that seemed to be the reality in LOTR fandom, for example. Nevertheless, that has been evolving. At least the term "slash" is now often applied to pairings that are very much supported by the cannon material. An example of that would be the internet-notorious Torchwood. So, in that same light, I now see femslash as something that is also crawling out of the dark, as something applied to cannon-supported material, instead of just the underground of any particular fandom. With that in mind, as much as I'd say that I support Remus/Sirius slash (they are so cannon), or something even more mainstream would be Jack/Hart (Torchwood) slash, then I'd say I also support X/G femslash . . . since all those cases (and yes I am sticking to my freaking guns on the Remus/Sirius issue) it has plenty of support in the cannon material.
