did you mention the autograph line thing? that's what bugged me the most. it made no sense making people line up in the hallway like that.

Yeah, I did inquire about the autographing line.
Also, Adam wants to know more about the security deposit issue going on. I know that Van was charged, was there anyone else? Also, if you had problems with staffers, let me know there names that. I'm horrible with names. Yuku PM me with the names. Adam is going to talk to the Marriott about the food prices and dessert/breakfast issues. |

Wow, a page and a half, that's a lot of issues! No, thankfully I wasn't charged a security deposit. The registration situation on Thursday night was a
total fiasco. The next morning had hardly anybody there so it's not a perk to be Gold and pre-register early if they're just going to let everyone in
line. Didn't get autographs so didn't have to deal with that mess.
I also thought the service at Champions was spotty at best. LadyKate practically had to tackle the waitress to get our drink order in on Sunday night. Same deal at the other restaurant for breakfast (can't remember it's name).

She was okay. She was nice and I had no problems with her. It was the one of the people.... the tall black lady. she's the one that looked she could bite
the heads off live chickens...

I remember Van mentioning about this. The security deposit is known as "incidentals" in the hotel term. If you use a credit card, they usually hold a
certain amount each day on your account in case you order room service, or purchase anything at the hotel and decide to put it to your room account. Last year
in Burbank, I used a debit card for total cost of room and tax. I was never informed by front desk that they would charge additional $50.00 per day for
incidentals until I confronted them after I made a trip to the ATM, discovering I barely had enough money to pay for food and con souvenirs. If you use a debit
card, the entire cost of room and incidentals are withdrawn from the checking account immediately. Had I known this, I would have used a credit card instead.
This way, they only put a hold and charge the exact amount incurred at check out. If a guest puts down cash deposit, it is returned at check out. Marriott
should always inform guests of extra charges as we need to make sure we put enough money aside when planning our trip. Unfortunately, this hotel didn't
bother.

I don't know I had a great time... the lines at autographs were weird... but oh well... the only complaint I had was that we need stadium seating... it is
incredibly hard to see.

hmm...complaints
...we got told to leave the hottub at 12 which is cool bt then there was a different group of ppl in there like an hour later. That was irritating. ... the sports bar was nice, but that other place's service was crap ...the staff at reception were rubbish in the face of emergency. And the handlers werent very well informed. over all id say it was a pretty good hotel. |

One of the staff said she liked my Twilight sweater so that made me smile (mainly because I know many people hate hate this series, albeit for good reason,
lol).
I hated the service at Champion's (the sports bar), bah. |

The tall black lady's name is Val. I actually really like her. She has been there for years. She can be a tough cookie but to me she has always come
across as fair. I also really like the guy who looks like John Cleese. We never remember his real name!
I didn't have any problems with the hotel and definitely thought it was much better than Burbank. The service in Champions was spotty but a little better in the other restaurant...at least for us. the only real issue I had was getting my water glass refilled. If that is the worst that happens then I am happy. I did have an issue with was Leticia, the gal at registration (and who handles tickets on the website). I was supposed to be able to upgrade to VIP for Lucy's concert on Friday but when I approached her to take care of that (meaning pay for it) and to give back the extra standing room ticket I had she wouldn't even talk to me. She blew me off and walked away from me. Sadly, every year there are problems with Leticia...problems with how rude she is and problems with things she screws up. OH! The other guy I had a problem with was also at registration. I don't know his name but he was EXTREMELY rude to me. I had my gold ticket in my hand when I approached. He asked for my name. I gave it to him. He starts looking through the envelopes and comments on how there isn't anything under my name. Then he finally looks at me and sees my ticket. He went off on me about how I have my gold ticket in my hand and that was the ticket he was looking for, etc. It would have helped if he had told me what he wanted or looked at me when I first walked up to him. Ugh! It was not the best start to the convention. Overall though, this was one of the best convention experiences I have had. The two events I just described were the main issues I had. I guess I would like to see them do something about the VIP at the Roxy for any future concerts. Many of the seats don't have much of a view. I had friends on the floor VIP seats Saturday night and they couldn't see anything on the left side of the stage. They were VERY unhappy about it. I was in the raised section Saturday night and I couldn't see anything below Lucy's chest. VIP seats should be the best seats in the house, IMO, especially for the price. However, it is something that has been an issue from the first concert and I don't see it being changed. If not for this thread, I wouldn't even mention it. Because of how the Roxy is set up, I don't see a solution to the problem. The best VIP seating they had was in Chicago. They were assigned seats and they were in the front of the stage. What happened with the autographing line? I didn't know anything happened with that.

I plan to write a letter too. I have a few complaints (none of them very major) and a suggestion or two.
Luckily I did not encounter any rudeness on the part of any Creation staffers, but I do have a complaint about the way my tickets were handled. I bought two gold tickets from twinkletoes and Shenanigen, for myself and skalpro. Shannon (Shenanigen) notified Letitia of the sale and sent her my name and address. Letitia sent her an email confirming that the tickets would be sent to me. However, no ticket ever arrived (I tried calling Creation on Wednesday but even though it was about half an hour before their closing time, I couldn't get anyone). It turned out that the tickets were never sent -- they were held at the Creation table ... and in Shannon's name!!! What's more, to retrieve them, I had to confirm the state where the original purchaser -- Shannon -- lives. Lucky for me I remembered that! I had a printout of Letitia's email to Shannon with me but don't know if that would have helped. Of course in this case, if worst came to worst I would have just asked Shannon to pick up the ticket for me. But what if she hadn't been there? Other than that, my biggest complaint is with the ridiculous autograph-signing system. At every other convention where I've been, if two celebrities were signing at the same time, there would be one line, you got your autograph from Guest 1 and then moved on to Guest 2 (and then Guest 3 if there was one). Well, this time, after standing in a long line for autographs from Jacqueline Kim and Robert Trebor, I discovered there was a seperate line to get an autograph from Jennifer Sky! Why? I have no idea. By that time I was so exhausted I had to skip Jen Sky's signing altogether. Same on Saturday: long line to get an autograph from Hudson (and I won't even mention the fact that they are supposed to call out the seats row by row but usually after row F or so everything gets totally messed up), and then a separate line to get an autograph from Tony Todd. I asked why and was told that Tony "likes to spend a little more time talking to people." That still doesn't explain why people couldn't move on directly from Hudson's table to his, and I really didn't notice any drastic difference in the time taken by the autographs. Same on Sunday -- Michael and Jennifer, then separate line for Vicki Pratt. Gods! The service at the bar was a wee bit slow, though I honestly wouldn't say it was something I'd make a big deal about. They do get busy. But actually I do have a suggestion that has something to do with the bar!

Btw,
I've heard back from Creation. I'm satisfied. I do plan to write back to Adam with some clarification on the hotel. Never in any of my many hotel stays have I ever heard of a "pre-charge" on a room to cover for incidentals. While, I understand their reasoning, the fact that it is not mentioned anyway, kinda disturbs me in that customer service way. |

LadyKate63 |

Is it a "pre-charge," or did they want to make sure there was enough money on the card to cover "incidentals"?
They usually do want a credit card to use for incidentals, but I think it's unusual for a pre-charge to be made.

Some people were "charged" a certain amount and would get it back if they didn't "need it."
I know that Van had an issue, because he only had the amount needed on the card for the hotel room. I think Sais was another person that had a problem (the names are running together at the moment). Jenn |

Regarding Leticia, I agree she was rude when I was at pre-reg Thursday night. She asked if I purchased both convention and concert ticket. I guess she
didn't hear me when I said I didn't purchase concert tickets. She was so abrupt though. Really, what was her problem?

I had a few problems with the weekend.
The lack of manners or what could be described as damn right rudeness of the creation staff behind the ticket desk. Shannon won a video contest for Callisto she approached the photo op desk to see if she could purchase a photo with Michael Hurst the woman tried to move her on by rudely stating she can take the leaflet elsewhere and come back later. No other patrons were at the desk and Shannon was trying to ask if the ticket was valid. At that point I piped up and said she will let you know now what she wants its a photo what are the times? (since she didnt give us chance to look ourselves) The woman huffed the prices and then took great pleasure telling us the gift certificate wasn't valid for tickets. (She knew all along shan wanted to pay this way) I think this may have been that Leticia I'm not 100% Champions wasn't the quickest service but the staff was pleasant The service in the other place was very slow latitude 33 or something? Now my biggest problem a long story cut short, Monday we were due to travel home we had a meal in that 33 place during the hour after I began to get very sick (we were in there 2 hours maybe? the service was that slow!) I left to be violently ill a few times leaving my things with the table, I was then informed if I left again I wouldnt be able to come back in! To which I explained I was going to the bathroom. The situation progessed quite badly to which I had to ask the staff many times for a near by clinic or doctor I could get to very quickly. The hotel was very reluctant to help the time that passed by (3 hours) the situation got serious I couldnt leave the bathroom so an ambulance was demanded and called much to the protest of the staff or so ive heard. During the time for the ambulance to arrive the staff insisted on removing the people with me from the bathroom and standing one of their staff at my doorway making silly comments like are you going throw up? well DUH! Staff removed the party with me yet failed to close the bathroom allowing people to come in and since they had the door to my stall open privacy wasn't an option. The whole time the two staff standing watching were laughing and joking while they waited. I was taken away and a card was given to shannon with instructions to contact when I was released. When everything was over the hotel wouldnt allow us to stay the night (by this time 11pm), we couldnt get in touch with this person who's contact details were provided. The hotel advised Shannon while I was sick that an investigation will take place over 10 days how I dont know as no info has been provided to them. All I know is when it counted the staff were dare I say it, useless. The medical report stated I had Gastro vs food poisoning the Doctor wanted me to stay but I begged to be let go, He agreed if I stayed for meds to stop my sickness, had fluids through an IV and confirmed I would go back the next day for flight clearence if I hadnt been ill in the night. I was advised it was more then likey food poisoning but with out keeping me in for 3 days, testing everything coming out of me (if you know what I mean) and the food I ate he couldnt confirm for legal reasons. I think thats what the hotel were concerned about me opening a law suit something I couldn't give a damn about I just wanted a bloody doctor at the time. I heard other people had stomach issue's not sure who. I missed my flight, shannon missed her flight, we had to pay for a room in the Hilton and medical bills. The total so far for everything is $500 not including the Doctor fee to follow and the ambulance. I have insurance but they are being difficult the reports giving to me were copies made before myself and the doc had signed them. So there you go my stress with the hotel sorry for hijacking the thread Jenn.
