So what makes you feel like one? What brings out the animal in you? What reminds you that in addition to your humanity you also carry an animalistic side?

What makes you feel like an animal? |

The fact that we are mammals so easily slip my mind. However we are, and sometimes something reminds us of that. That despite our existentialism,
self-deprecation and recreational fornication we are as much animal as the next mammal.
So what makes you feel like one? What brings out the animal in you? What reminds you that in addition to your humanity you also carry an animalistic side? |

Well, when you mentioned mammals I immediately thought of breast feeding!
Other than that? Maternal instinct. You really will kill to protect your child from harm (or feel close to it anyway!). The urge to procreate (even if you're gay!)- baby hunger. The biological clock ticking. It's a powerful urge. Being really hungry. Stalking your prey (or the pantry) And well, there's always that animalistic sex drive... *rowr*

Well, I definitely think of sex! That can be a very animalistic act, as can be our sex drives, seduction - the whole stalking the prey thing.. kinda seems
animalistic to me!
Also the urge to protect or the want to be protected. Whether it be a mother protecting a child, which is very animalistic aswell as the protection seeked from a man, imo. I for example, seek that protection, whether it be from my father or from a partner, it seems animalistic, like the lion guarding his lionesses, or a stallion protecting his mares from outside dangers and other stallions.

Oohh, also, does anyone else find curling up - be it on the couch or up to a loved one - to be rather animal-like. We instinctly to it for comfort or warmth,
and it just reminds me of how animals curl up, and how they curl up next to each other for warmth and comfort.
So yeah, that also reminds me of the animalistic traits possessed by humans.

When I run, I run like a goat.

Seriously though, I'd say the food thing can definitely be an animalistic thing. At least, the hungrier I am, the more I'm apt to not pay attention to the 'niceties' and just get the food in as quickly as possible. |

Sex of course. hehe And, although it probably sounds slightly morbid, but in situations like natural disasters, it always reminds me how similar we are to the animals, at the end of the day we are all just creatures trying to survive and doing what we can to avoid danger.
