A new book, New Zealand Filmmakers (Wayne State University Press, edited by Ian Conrich and Stuart Murray), includes
the chapter "Working in Close-Up: Jennifer Ward-Lealand, Performance, and Collaborative Film Production" (written by Barbara Cairns). Excerpt:
"Within New Zealand, Ward-Lealand is known as much for her work in local theatre and television, but it is her cinema work that has attracted
international interest for her award-winning film performances. A commanding screen presence, she is very much part of the New Wave of filmmakers who have
brought the industry to the position it occupies today".
