Hey Everyone.
In December of 2007. I self published my first book Dark Moon: Finding Myself as my project when I joined the nonprofit organization FLI: Future Leaders Institute in the 2006-2007 school year when I was in High School. FLI works with teenagers from around the Bay Area in Northern California, their goal is to create the Future Leaders of tomorrow by giving us the opportunity to get up off our butts and do something to help our communities through our passions. They give us the tools we need to use our passion to benefit other people, we also learn public speaking, planning, networking with other people as well as organizations, and other real world skills that most of us don't learn in school. All the proceeds from my novel are now going to go back to the Future Leaders Institute to benefit another FLI student whose passion benefits the environment or several FLI students. So I would really appreciate it if you're willing to buy one of my books, its for a very good cause. You'd be benefiting more teenagers who have already started their own non profit organizations, put on benefit concerts and fashion shows all on their own. One girl has even taken her passion for children and interior decorating to remodeling a room where foster youth meet their parents.
Summary of book:
Jessica is a vampire.
But she doesn't know it yet.
She has no idea what's in store for her.
But she does know one thing - something about her is different.
The Future Leaders Institute means the world to me because without it I would have never had the confidence to publish my own writing or known that at the age of 16 I was able to do something that would Impact other people the way it did and still does. You can buy my book at the online store of my self publisher, and this link goes straight to my book Dark Moon: Finding Myself.
Thank you,
LadyR
