OK youtube finally pissed me off enough |

I am transfering all my videos to to metacafe... does anyone know how to download off of youtube, since I don't have access to all my videos anymore...
anyway after being on youtube for 2 years they took down my Cleaning out my closet video, so here it is in better quality on metacafe Cleaning out my closet |

I have a few more to transefer on this computer... sadly unless I can figure out how to DL my others off of YT, then they will prolly be gone after a while as

The problem is also that when you download from youtube they'll download as a flash file, you can convert this but it will never be the same quality.
Sorry about your videos being taken down! I'm just waiting for the day when they start attacking mine.

I'm sorry you've had troubles with YouTube, brabs.
So what is the website you can use to download from YouTube? And is there a program that can convert the files to formats that can be watched in Windows Media Player?

You can download a youtube vid with this link: http://keepvid.com/
It will give you two choices, a low quality flv file or a slightly higher quality mp4 file. I honestly don't know which is better, but neither will be as good as the original file you uploaded to youtube with. I also have no idea how to convert those to a different format. When you watch a vid on youtube, it is in flv format. Hope that helps.  |

I download the vids using DownloadHelper, which is a free Firefox addon.
Once downloaded, I use a free program called FLVtoAVI to convert them. It will also convert them to mpg/mpeg also.
