Yes, but it's Obama's supporters and not Obama who's "threatening" with riots, right?
It's not necessarily about causing fear, though granted that can be the response of opposers (as well as among their own), it's about people feeling so strongly about something, in this case someone, that they see violence as the only solution should they "fail". I'm not saying it's the right thing, but its definitely psychologically understandable when passion is involved. It's an act of complete and utter desolation and lack of hope. |

And Bush fought a war against Afghanistan and Iraq in the name of God. It's always tricky when people do stuff in the name of someone else.
I know this sounds casual and cruel, but I do think the US could do with a few riots. The political and social atmosphere appears to have become rather stale. The status quo needs to be shaken and disrupted. Though I highly doubt that's going to happen either Obama wins or loses. Either way, it's going to be interesting to see who wins and what the consequences will be. |

Good for you. Though a gun would probably be more efficient, wouldn't it? A few pops and anyone getting frisky with your material world will be down and

I voted this morning here in Minnesota....it was a good experience (unlike 6 years ago after Paul Wellstone died)...I was about the 200th voter and I was out
of there by 7:35 so it was really quick and well organized. Get out there everyone and VOTE!

Not that it's that much of an interest for me.. I'm not even american but I'm more for Obama than I'm for McCain.. I think a younger president
would be nice.. and I have a feeling Obama will do well as President of the US. Or better than Bush anyway.. I honestly can't stand that guy..
 Oh well,
i'm curious, too, of what the outcome will be.

I don't think anyone will vote out of fear. To say that people are scaring people on Obama's behalf is ludicrous.
And I have enough faith in the system to believe that nobody can "steal" an election, although I know people said that about Bush in 2004. There are certainly some genuine concerns about the voting process here, but I think there are many checks and balances to try to ensure a fair election. Those sort of comments sound like sour grapes and a way to explain away a possible win for Obama other than that the peoiple have chosen him. The only specific threat of violence I've heard is from you, Piper...ready to punch people and swinging metal bats! Wow. I'm voting for Obama not out of fear but in hope. Whoever you're voting for just get out there and vote!

I don't worry about what will happen if Obama loses, I worry more about what could possibly happens if he wins. While most hate groups here in America
don't really have the means to carry out attacks anymore, they've already arrested two Neo-Nazis for an assasination plot. That in itself says a lot
about the mentality of some Americans. It's definitely not fair just to single out the Obama-supporters as being the ones who would start riots, etc.
It's not a Democratic/Obama-Supporter thing, it's a human mentality thing that shows immaturity, and a lack of intelligence and a lack of logic.

But seriously whenever I hear people say they don't vote, all I can say is, then don't ever whine about the way our country is run, because if you don't vote and speak up, you can't complain! Now if you do vote, and it doesn't turn out the way you want, you can complain and at least feel vindicated.
