The geneticists have broken us down into groups called haplotypes.
National Geographic offers tests that anyone can take (I think it's $100 a test). If you're a female you can only take one test that identifies your maternal line, if you're a male you can take 2 tests that will identify both your maternal and paternal line.
Advice: If you are a female and have a full-blood brother, get him to take both tests so you can get both sides information.
