I must ask though (and any of the LDR couples can answer if you would like) do you always see an 'end' to the long distance? By that, I mean, are you able to cope with the distance based on the fact that one day you will be together? or is it more that you don't mind the distance and you can deal with it through keeping in touch? I am curious if it is the small dates in between that make a difference (ie "I will see you in three months" etc) or if it is more based on "I will live with you eventually" that keeps the relationship going. So for me its both- the visits in between, the dream of being together someday. I definately "mind' the long distance, in fact I curse it every day. Especially being across an ocean from her. But it is so worth it...and when you're in love you really have to make the best of it, there is no alternative. And we find little ways to stay close even when we are apart. We lived about 8 hours apart (which is actually a short distance in comparison to a lot of you) and so we got to see each other for about 2 days every couple months. That carried on for a while, just living counting down the days, talking every day, etc etc. Just like what you all do now. I got an opportunity to move for school, and I took it. Packed up my stuff and trekked across the country to stay with her. So I think, personally, if you have a plan, and you stick to it, there's really no finite amount of time you have before the relationship just won't work anymore. It can always be done, you'll just be one of those couples who doesn't take close quarters for granted. And I think that's a good thing.
