Just finished:
The Hawk and the Wolf by Mark Adderley - The first in a series about the life of Merlin. I love Arthurian tales, but this one fell a little below my expectations. It was decent, but not interesting enough to convince me to buy the rest of the series. Tales of Beadle the Bard by J.K. Rowling - A small collection of fairy tales set in the world of the Harry Potter books. I devoured this book in an hour flat. I highly recommend it to any HP fan. Next up: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - A novel about a woman who steals books from Nazi book burnings during World War II. Not the type of book I usually read, but the description on the back cover sounded promising.

The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. Her writing is nice, but the story is so boring.

Right now I'm reading Northern Lights from His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. I'm reading it to Evie, cause she's never read them
before, and they're some of my favourite books. It's a very different experience reading them out loud...I love it.
Keeper of Xena's Smile My darling baby Evie...I love and adore you with all my heart and soul...forever and
always
"...cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling, and everytime we kiss, I swear I could fly can't you feel my heart beat fast, I want this to last, need you by my side cause everytime we touch, I feel the static, and everytime we kiss, I reach for the sky can't you hear my heart beat so, I can't let you go, want you in my life..." |

And?
In the middle of Day Watch, from Russian novelist Sergei Lukyanenko. It's the second installment in his Night Watch series and revolves around some of the villains in the previous book. Good stuff so far!

Finally gotten around to continue reading Ursula K. Le Guin's "Left Hand of Darkness". A sci-fi novel dealing with religious beliefs and
politics of a bisexual society vs that of an ambisexual society. Different and interesting, and so far very nice.

I just started Niccolo Rising by Dorothy Dunnett, a birthday gift from a friend and something that looks
appealing. The setting and story are great but her writing style is like pulling teeth. Subject verb object subject verb object and half the time the sentences
seem completely unrelated. Oy vey.
I did just finish The Once and Future King by TH White. Awesome story and the writing is fantastic. I guess it's a class act to follow. |
