From an article on Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin in theDaily Telegraph (UK): Joe Biden, the poor man who now has to debate Xena, Warrior Princess, said that her speech was "skilfully written and skilfully delivered" ... There's also this not very sympathetic article by Justin Raimondo, "Sarah Palin: The Xena of the War Party", which contains the line: Sarah, who looks - and acts - an awful lot like Xena, the Warrior Princess... I don't see the resemblance myself but whatever floats your boat! I think it's pretty cool. NOTE: Please, no political arguments in this thread. Irkesome because people can just be strong and be themselves without acting like other people. (I hate being compared to other people myself so when other people do it about other people it irks me a bit.) But then I like it because Xena is great, and a good role model. I've had enough! Made up my mind, I'm gonna get up, and out and wahhh! Gonna step right up. Spit shine my soul, I'm gonna be proud and loud and outta control! I'm lookin in the mirror and I like what I see, I've lost the fear & the horror that's been eatin' at me I love myself today, not like yesterday, I'm cool, I'm calm, I'm gonna be okay!

Three Star General Posts: 84 (09/06/08 11:45 PM) More My Recent Posts	Personally I don't see Palin as being anywhere near Xena, and while the Xena-lover in me finds this awesome, the rest of me is irked a bit. It's not really for the comparison of her to someone else, but more of the comparison to a fictional character. It's probably just me, but I don't like seeing real life people being put in a category next to a fictional person, especially when there are some people can't really separate the two. But insofar as she's a woman, a leader, and someone who has to make tough decisions and add to it that she's excelling in a profession that is traditionally a man's domain, sure I can see why one would draw the comparison.
