I haven't ever really watched Buffy so I just randomly put: "XENA > BUFFY" on the paper and didn't think about it much. So the day went by and suddenly school was over. When I went past the poster board I noticed that two girls were standing in front of the Buffy poster and wrote something, so I just waited 'til they were finished and then went up to check, and it said: "Well ya know, Xena freaks can come to!! : ) Xena <3 Gabrielle" And so now I know there are other subbers in my school which is AWESOME!! 'Cause I live in Sweden and no one's ever a Xena fan. And my school has maybe 950 students from ages 15-19. Isn't that just amazing?? Do you have any of these kind of anecdotes that don't fit anywhere else on this board? Leah: Do I sense a non-believer among us? Thanks Aurora Goddess for the keepership! (i don't know if it's allowed to talk anything other than english on these boards :o) where in sweden do you live? jolly: i don't know if i want to go, i mean... i know nothing about Buffy except that Tara and Willow are a cute couple and i don't think i would qualify. i was at a Harry Potter meeting last friday though (ha ha.. ha) and one of the girls who i saw writing on the Buffy poster was at that meeting, so i MIGHT talk to them anyway. both of them looked kinda gay now that i think about it, ahahaa. at least tomorrow i'm gonna write back on the flyer XD. any idea what to write? I was at my old school today, checking up on some things, and ran into an old teacher (who happens to be american, but that's beside the point). I somehow came to say "Xenafied" in the middle of a conversation, the subject being gender- and social standards changing in pop-culture over the last couple of decades, and my teach got this really interesting glint in her eye and she got what I meant (whereas the others present didn't). I know how exciting it is to run into fellow Xena fans (and subbers as well!!!). One little anecdote I have is this: I was at work one day, just talking (which I happen to be very good at ) when I mentioned Xena. And someone said "You mean that leather woman who fought bad guys and was in love with her blonde sidekick?" I started jumping around saying "Yes! That's her!" I probably got too excited about it. And the guy said "Oh, well...I liked Hercules better." I stopped jumping at that point. "As you write your character analysis, also write the subtext." "You mean, I get to be in love with another character and not say it out loud?" icon by poisoniv13

I did get one guy today saying he watched an episode on TV the other day...said he didn't realise until I mentioned being obsessed with it that it was a real TV series. Even said to me 'I like crap things too'. HE WILL PAY. Mwahahahaha Cool though...referring to the actual thread topic :P...for that to happen at school. Just 'cause it's a cheesy show doesn't make it crap-- it's intentionally cheesy! The crap shows are the ones that are serious but still full of cheese.
