Abby Dawg is resting on the tiles in the kitchen and I'm sneaking on Alicia's laptop to post an update to you guys. "Are ya gonna tell 'em, mom, tell 'em how you were supposed to follow Alicia to her apartment and you got lost?" Ahem! It coulda happened to anyone, Abby Dawg. "In the Starbucks parking lot?" She said she was driving a grey car. Who'da thunk a light grey car would pull out of its parking place and wait for me, and I would follow it, at exactly the same moment that Alicia in her dark grey car (with a name that sounds remarkably like the other car) was waiting for me and wondering where the frak I could possibly be. "Yeah, her voicemail was priceless. 'I just pulled out of the parking lot. Have I lost you already?' Hahahahaha! Notice, she was not at all surprised that you got lost, mom. Just surprised at how soon you got lost. Hahahahaha!" Yes, well, er, um, moving right along-- "We sure were, mom. I'll bet that guy is still wonderin' who the hades that woman was that kept followin' him and turnin' every time he did. Hahahahaha!" As I was going to say, we are still looking for a venue in which to view BSG and our lovely Lucy Lu. "I knew it! Lucy Liu's a Cylon too!" (Slaps hand over forehead) Argh! If anyone has a place for us to watch BSG together, either tonight or can tape it and let us descend upon your abode like a horde of angry wolves-- "The Horde? Weren't they in XWP, mom? Not BSG." Sigh. I think I'm gonna go stick my head in Alicia's oven. "Don't do it, mom! It's electric and you'll just heat up the place." That's it. I'm ordering a pizza and a beer-- no, make that a six pack, no, a case of frakkin' beer. "Oh, I could drink a case of youuuuuuu and still I'd be stuck out here in the desert with ya." Thanks, Abby Dawg. I think I'll go see if I can drown myself in the tub. "Snort! Just tryin' to be helpful, mom. I can hardly wait til I get to blog my own impressions of our Great Western Adventure Vacation." Gods. I can only imagine. I guess you'll be wanting your own corner of the site, huh? "Well, duh. Unless you wanna spring for my very own doggie blog..." No, I don't. You can have a corner of the one we already have. "YAY!" What am I saying?! What have I done!? Where are you going, Abby? "I'm gettin' your, I mean, our laptop out so I can work on my new post for your, I mean, our blog, mom. This is gonna be great!" I feel a sick headache coming on. I need to go lie down. Don't let Bama tell you that the Starbucks parking lot was a big deal. First of all, this whole place is on a grid, but there are no signposts to tell you which is north and which is south (and that truly isn't intuitive for some people--it's not for me). Second, getting into the Starbucks from the highway is an adventure in itself. The most efficient way to do it is a U-turn. So yeah, Bama, don't stick your head in the oven! Did I ever tell you about the time I set it on fire trying to bake bread? AZ Xenites, we've got plans for a big meetup on Sunday. We're leaving here at 6:30 AM, since I have to be at church in Congress at 9, and then going from there! We'll post lots of pictures and stuff. I'll edit this and add one picture of me, just so y'all know what I look like...well, here's me and Pandora, I'm on the left. I'm sure we'll have lots more pics to post later on. I really can't wait to see all of you in person. The broccoli was not harmed during the making of this motion picture.

I've talked to everyone but AmazonElder since yesterday, and it was a blast talking with everyone. I'm way nervous and I can feel me getting shyer (spelling) by the minute. Talked with C. E. first while I was at my sister's house, and spent a good time on the phone with her going over the plans everyone was making. It sounds like a fun adventure. Txt'd and talked with Elsie on the phone. Then got a chance to talk with both of them (Elsie and Bama) again when I was finally settled in one place for the night. Yesterday was hectic. I was going over to my sister's mother's house (long story, will explain another time) becuz she's going out of town and would like me to watch her place and her dog, Little Girl. They believe ... Little Girl had been abused previously. I've been going over given her a chance to get to know me and my scent so she will feel comfortable, while mom's away. Saw my mother briefly this morning and she just wish that I'd be safe and to have a fun time tmw with everyone, even if she knows my fears/nervousness about this, she's been very supportive. I hope everyone's having a good day ... I'll call again tonight when I get out of work. wlfy

You'll be here in spirit--I wish you could really join us! I keep on saying that Internet relationships are so unique. It's nice to not have it matter where people are, and it's nice to be able to write and write and be able to edit. But both conventions I've been to--there's an added dimension to being able to see your faces, "talk" with my hands, hug those who are comfortable hugging. It takes me a few weeks to get used to pixels again. We'll take lots of pictures! Yeah, Bama and Wlfeyes are out tonight. They asked me to come along, but I said that I really was going to be good and get my homework done. It's due tomorrow, and who knows how late we'll be out tomorrow night...probably past the deadline I have for submitting it! What's a roll-playing game? Well, Abby, it doesn't involve actually rolling in anything, but it involves lots of foods that dogs would probably enjoy eating, but shouldn't eat (like Oreos), and people telling horrible jokes and creating word pictures. (quick side note since I'm gonna show off what a geek I am): Usually I don't get a chance to have my wizard use the "ice storm" spell. I'm either too far away to see the target, or so close that I'd hit teammates as well as bad guys. But today we had this little room where all the baddies were inside and my whole team was outside. So first Sam did a Lightning Storm, then I did an Ice Storm, then Carl sent in a Fireball, and that was the end of seven baddies. And it's funny that I can describe all this--at least as vividly as I could if I'd been playing a video game--but there was nothing at all to see. Just words and occasional dice rolling. Bama, I'm not about to kick you out--stay until you've seen everything you want to see and you're ready to go meet the Texas crowd! This trip has been the catalyst for me to meet up with Wlfeyes, and you're a neat person. LOL. I'm nervous too, although I think it is just a little different. I'm not much of a "watcher"...I'm such a chatterbox and I can't shut up. But I usually feel a little nervous inside, though...I'm more insecure than the face I present to the world. I think it's very brave of you to step from Internet to face to face relationships, and I hope we can get together after this--there's so much I want to know about you. Oh, and Xenasgrrl, I just sent you a long PM--I'm glad you're going to be here, and I definitely want to get together. Maybe we could even have a regular meetup--us drive one week and you the next. I think everyone has a bit of a different relational style. Some of us relate with lots and lots of words (blushing and giggling ...now you all have heard how fast I talk)...but some of us don't, and I want to get to know you, not ask you to be anything other than who you are. I need to get out the door to work, so I'll start another thread and post some pics tonight. Xenasgrrl, since Bama's just coming through, so far as I know, there's just me, Amazonaelder, and Wlfeyes here in AZ (anyone else? Please, please, let me know if I missed you...I want to get to be friends with everyone, I just haven't had a whole lot of time to learn names lately). We might have converted the waitress at Denny's in Wickenburg to XOC, though; she already likes X:WP. Well...short version: we joked that the thread title should be "Arizona Xenites: We're Nuts." Of Subjects That Make Elsie Turn The Color of a Ripe Tomato, there were many. We talked a lot about Xena and a lot about our lives. And I had a wonderful time. Thanks to you all for being who you are! I'm back into the normal routine...work, tutoring after work, scheduling commitments...poor Bama isn't going to think I spend any time in my apartment...but I'll try to post yesterday's pics tonight.

I have to train a new guy here at work today, and I'm still recovering from last night. I loved meeting everyone, and I'll just let Bama tell how shy I am. LMAO! Amazon horses were beautiful and I love Junior. It was nice to get up close to a horse and feel a bond. I'm from Kentucky, but I've never had much contact with horses but I've always thought they were amazing animals, and Kentucky traditions don't die from you, even when you feel like Arizona is your home. We have lots of photo's and we were tossing around the idea of putting them in a caption thread, and letting everyone have at it, or we'd supply the captions and let y'all have a wonderful laugh. Elsie did blush alot but it was in all good fun, and she was in great company. I love seeing the different levels of everyone and finally seeing a face with a avatar or a screen name. C.E and I talked alot about photography since I've just started getting into that as an expressive media. She let me take some pictures with her camera, so I could get a feel for a DSL, and I thought that was very nice of her. Considering I know how much one of them costs, and I don't quite have a steady hand. Have a good one ... wlfy
