One Star General Posts: 596 (05/21/08 5:08 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None So, as to what I'm doing creatively... 1) I'm waiting to hear from the editor of a magazine I sent a story to a couple of months back. She's been really tied down with stories, plus she's recovering from shoulder surgery. 2) I recently completed a brand-new novella that I'm going to be sending out soon-but I have to send a "pitch letter" to the editor. 3) I'm probably going to begin work on a new portrait tonight. Special circumstances are behind the creation of this one...I won't say any more than that. 4) I have to begin gearing up to work on my first novel. I've got a number of notes written down, since I carry notebooks everywhere with me. (Huh-I should bring a sketchpad too; I need to do some life drawing.) 5) I would like to do some night photography of Ground Zero (New York City) at some point... That's it! Stay tuned.

I hope you get your novel published, I can only dream of acheving that goal at this stage in my writing. Besides-writing is VERY difficult, and if I'm going through all the trouble of writing, I might as well try and write something original and sell it. That's not to say I regretted writing the fanfic-I didn't, and I'm satisfied with what I wrote. I'm glad people liked it as well. I was using it to help promote my original work, but it just got too time consuming. And as I said-I'm not getting any younger.

I've begun to lay down color. I'm very painstaking when it comes to this-I'll sit for about a couple of hours at a time. My favorite time to draw is late Friday night/early Saturday morning, often until 2-4 am. Everyone is asleep, no one's bothering me-just me, my CD player, my drawing pad and colored pencils. I worked for over an hour and a half just now, listening to Rush's "Snakes & Arrows Live" CD. Time for dinner.

And my biggest focus now is how can I make my time more efficient and make more $ doing everything? (I decided to take a little relaxation time off tonight and visit here.) The Show Must Go On! I spent the last several hours working on the new portrait. It seems to be coming along pretty well. If everything goes according to plan, the new portrait should be done within 24-48 hours. What can I say about it? Hmmm.... It's something old and something new, taken in a direction I've never gone before. Reactions to this piece should be...erm...interesting. I'm off to bed. Stay tuned.
