This evening I uploaded a video on youtube and was surprised at the quality lost. I removed it and tried rendering it 3 other times with other recommendations. I should mention that I use Sony Vegas. Despite all this, the video just doesn't look it's spiffiest. I've uploaded videos before, but this one is just bugging me. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on how to improve the quality? No idea how to deal with this... Maybe use a higher quality version of the video? (You know, lower compression or whatever... After all, it's a streaming video, and the larger it is the longer it would take to load and probably continually stop and start for people on slower connections (I've had times where YouTube goes through phases, and every video that I view doesn't load as fast as it plays and thus, ends up stopping during it and then resuming--its rather annoying). I have noticed recently that when a video is uploaded to YouTube, a "high quality" link appears at the bottom. I had never seen this before so I don't know if this is a new feature but watching it with the high quality is defintely better than the original YouTube quality. As for why it makes the quality look not that great, I don't really know. I've not uploaded many videos so I'm no expert but perhaps a higher quality file to start with might change that. I decided to upload the video in both .avi and .wmv format to see the difference. The one in .avi is a little better in quality but .wmv's audio is much louder. I had to increase the volume in my master volume in order to hear the .avi one better. Now I'm not sure which one to broadcast, lol.
