I feel that in The Path not taken she wanted him to turn good so she could be with him and not feel guilty about her feelings for him, she obviously couldn't be with him if he was fighting on the opposite side to her. In Mortal Beloved she actually tells him she loves him, i don't remeber Xena saying this to anyone but Gabrielle! I'm sure she's probably said it to her children but she's never said it in a romantic way to anyone - unless of course its meant to be romantic when she says it to Gabby but i gotta say im not a Subber so i dont think so (gets on knees to apologise to Subbers ) My reason number 2) is much shorter: Marcus was incredibly hot!

I can't really see Xena in a relationship with any of these, so I guess I'll have to go with her own choice, Marcus ("her one true love..." ). However, if Marcus in some way came back to life (say, just for the fun of it, somewhere in the middle of s6), does anyone want to take bets of the length of that relationship? Or, for that matter, one with Hercules ("You did/said WHAT to Ares?!?!? )? Could be fun!

To me Xena's feelings for Marcus had a lot to do with the fact that she had only recently turned to good, and the fact that he followed her on that path. I do think they had a nice romantic chemistry, but not particularly passionate.
