Sort-of inspired by the "Why did Gabrielle kill Hope" thread, but I had been thinking about this for a while.
What do you think was the relationship between Callisto and Hope?
Were they simply using each other, each for her own agenda? (i.e., Hope using Callisto for her god powers and also as a convenient ally against Xena, and Callisto using Hope for revenge against Xena and then in her quest for oblivion)
Or was there something more than that? Did they share some kind of bond or attachment, and if so what was the nature of that bond? Was it one-sided or mutual? Do you think Callisto had any interest in Hope beyond simply using her to further her own goals? And what about Hope -- did she have any interest in Callisto beyond using her as a tool?
What do you think?
