I for one am a huge Pirates of the Caribbean fan and had sworn not to read/see anything about the movie untill it came to the theaters here 02/08 (you turn the numbers around, don't you? In that case, it's 08/02. Anyways, next wednesday ) About a week ago, there was news the movie would be here the 26the of July already so tomorrow, I'll go and see it. Aaaaaaanyway...whilst I had sworn not to do/read/listen to anything that might spoil the movie I clicked on almost every link MSN, hotmail, internet in general flashed at me. So how curious are you when it comes to things like this? Renee: Why she didn't have more boyfriends, yeah. I guess the relationship between Xena and Ares was so strong, too, that you didn't really need to bring anyone else in. Sharon: As if Xena wishes she could have her Ares and still be a good girl. I'm too curious for my own good because I usually hate myself for it later. BTW, I'm a big fan of Pirates of the Carribean too! My mom saw it last week. She gave me some advice about it, and I feel I should warn you too.This shouldn't ruin anything for you. My info has almost nothing to do with the plot. * * * My mom told me she wishes she would have waited to see the second Pirates of the Carribean until the 3rd one comes out. She told me there is a big cliffhanger at the end. So I am going to take her advice and wait. Apparently they are working on filming the 3rd movie now, so hopefully I won't have long to wait. S P O I L E R S But with POTC: DMC, I went out and bought the movie magazines and have several of the action figures and an 18' talking Jack Sparrow doll that is sitting in the corner of my room. >_> I get really hyped about movies or books that i wait for. It's how I was with the new Kim Harrison novel "A Fistful of Charms" i knew it was coming out but most online sties said it would be July 4 or before so imagine my excitement when I discovered it a week early. I'm just advizing her that she might consider waiting until the third one comes out. Then she can see the second one and the third right after it. On the one hand I like following the "progress" or "news" of a movie and I usually avoid the huge spoilers such as: **SPOILERS** The paternity of the child in Superman Returns and the "twist" at the end of POTC 2. If anything, sometimes following a film's "production" kind enhances the viewing experience because it almost feels like you've been with it from the beginning. With TV shows, I usually just get annoyed at how behind we are down under and read ahead because it gets difficult to avoid the spoilers when visiting American movie/entertainment news sites anyway. Even without the American sites I remember one of the major internet news sites down under completely spoilt the future of the Ana Lucia character on Lost when they did a story on the actress that plays her. Don't really mind when it comes to books. I don't usually follow their releases too closely, more of a browse and buy than a die hard fan of any author. The closest I've came would be to checking on the progress of Harry Potter 7, but more for just a release date than concrete spoilers or anything. Cheers, Haeph.

(by myself) toa I am so totally Buffed in a Xena-esque way.

Among other reasons, I think it helps to let me know what to expect beforehand, so that I can better judge the movie/book/whatever on its own merits, rather than go in expecting one thing and then getting upset because I didn't see what I thought I was going to see. The only thing in recent years for which I avoided spoilers was Serenity, the Firefly movie. Not sure why that one. Maybe it was because Joss had done such a strong job establishing the characters and setting up the world that I was willing to trust that whatever I saw would be consistent. Whatever the reason, I went into that one cold. It's not easy for me to become a fan of something new. My current obsessions that I still can look forward to are Harry Potter and Earth's Children. Last year when The Goblet of Fire was coming, I made that mistake that I watched EVERY clip and trailer I could get my hands on. Result: I was so disappointed when I first saw the entire movie. Now I have decided not to watch any spoilers, trailers do, but not a single clip for me anymore. Concerning the books.. I'm dieing to get the next books from those two series. I'm pretty positive that once they hit the shelves, I'm there immediately! Another favorite author of mine, David Eddings, who's still of course publishing new books, is a bit different case. I'm more a fan of Belgariad and Malloreon, but I do read his new novels at some point too. This latest book series of his, The Dreamers, is amusing, but I don't get all that excited about it. I have some favorite actors and actresses too, but if there's a movie with one of them starring in it, that isn't enough for me to go and see it. For example, I like Johnny Depp, but I won't go and see Pirates of the Caribbean just because he's in it. I'm a very picky person what comes to the movies. Of course, with a good company one could watch almost any movie. When there comes a new tv show, I usually check it out IF it seems interesting enough based on the commercials and its reputation. Rome is a show that I've been waiting ever since I found out that it's gonna start airing here. I don't know for sure what is it all about, only seen some commercials and read one or two stories in a magazine, but I KNOW that I must start watching it. Simply because it's about ancient Rome. I know everyone is considered unique, but how about me then? I love season 4, Soul Possession, Paradise Found, the India trilogy AND the Norse trilogy!

I remember when Romeo and Juliet with Dicaprio and Danes came out some people left the theatre surprised by the ending. I'm not kidding. Nevermind the fact that the ending is stated in the beginning....who does not know how Romeo and Juliet ends? I always find out what I'm getting for Christmas before Christmas. Always. I will find all presents. I remember when I got my hands on Fallen Angel video clips before it aired. My partner wasn't too happy with me...she hates spoilers. -Meo
