A couple of years ago we did a "Xena jeopardy game" in which you got points for answering Xena-related questions from various categories. The people with the top 3 scores got prizes.
We plan to do that again this year but first, I decided to try something new that kinda ties into my new obsession with Xena trading cards.
There's a great trading card set called "The Quotable Xena" -- 134 cards, one for each episode, with an image from the ep on the front and a quote on the back.
What I'm going to do is post, in random order, the quotes used on the cards, with a few words missing from each. You then have to (1) fill in the missing words, (2) name the person(s) who speak the line(s), and (3) name the episode the quote is from.
If you get everything right on the first try, you get 20 points per answer.
If you get part of the answer right (e.g. fill in the words but don't remember the ep or the speakers) you get anywhere from 5 to 15 points depending on how much of it you got.
Example (not from the cards):
Speaker 1: "I made you leave ( _ ) ( _ ) ( _ ) ( _ ). It was ( _ ) ( _ )."
Speaker 2: "I had a choice -- to ( _ ) ( _ ) or ( _ ) ( _ ) ( _ ) . I chose the ( _ ) ( _ ) ( _ ) ."
Correct reply:
Xena: I made you leave the way of love. It was my fault.
Gabrielle: I had a choice -- to do nothing or save my friend. I chose the way of friendship.
Ides of March
If you get it all on the first try, 20 points.
If you get the speakers and the episode right, but get one or two words wrong (for instance, if you reply, "I had a choice -- to do nothing or help my friend"), 15 points.
If you fill in all the words and correctly identify the speakers, but (oddly enough ) do not remember what episode the quote is from, you get 10 points. Same if you fill in the quotes and get the episode right but the speaker(s) wrong.
Any other partial answer, 5 points.
I hope that's clear enough, but I'll be happy to answer questions.
The winner will get a Quotable Xena set. The runner-up will get a Words from the Bard insert set.
The game will start tomorrow. I thought I'd post advance notice so that people who want to participate would know to be around.

Just to make the rules clear:
Your answers must all be from memory. No checking the cards if you already have a set. No checking Whoosh or any other transcript site. Of course, we have no way of knowing if you did check, but we're doing this on an honor system and we trust our members to be the most honorable people in the word.

If two people post the correct answer time-stamped in the same minute, the one who posted first gets 20 points and the one who posted second gets 10 points.
If the first person missed part of the answer and the second got everything right, the first person gets 15 points (or 10 points depending on how much they missed) and the second gets 15 points. If both speakers missed part of the answer, 15 or 10 points for the first poster, 5 points for the second.
If the second post is time-stamped one minute later and both are correct, the second poster gets 5 points (or 10 if the first answer was incomplete).
If your post is time-stamped later than the (correct) first answer and is incomplete or partially incorrect, no points. (Sorry!)
