Royal Posts: 7467 07/02/12 4:09 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	When zapping through the channels and there's one of the old series on- like Pippi Longstocking, Heidi, Michel of Lönneberga, Knight Rider, fairy tales and stuff, I stay tuned. When I hear old tunes, I see myself laying on the floor with my walkman and it is very strange what I thought they were singing back then I sometimes listen to old audio dramas on youtube. And when I walk by the lake we used to play when kids (summer and winter (ice skating)) I always check secretly if something is hidden in that hollow tree we used as a "super secret" hiding place. And sometimes when I drink coke or some soda, I think about how excited we were to get one when there was a feast in town- and now I can have it every day PS: Spongebob rules! scroll by Dark Hunter Silver

People around me all act "grownup", they live for their work, they get kids and live traditional family life. In my head I feel just the same I did 10-15 years ago. Society have us "restrain" our inner child more and more as we get older, and I feel lost and confused to the core. Not saying that I'm acting like a child, or having a childish attitude toward people, but what goes on in my mind and thoughts are still the the same after all these years. Being alone and lost, surrounded by "traditional grownups" and the expectancies around that specific "character" is tearing me apart...

I love to have fun and I still love most of the things I did when I was little! Disney is a HUGE part of my life. Watching a Disney movie will always cheer me up! The Lion King will always be my favourite movie, as well. I even joined a Lion King forum and I've been there for three years. And yes, I still post there. (Actually I arrived there around the time I left XOC. Sorry for leaving guys, I was going through some depression.) However, Disney is not the only childish thing that I adore. I watch cartoons!! Yes, I do! The ones I'm currently watching are My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Adventure Time and Avatar: The Last Airbender. I LOVE all three of these shows! I never get tired of them! ^^ Also, another thing, as a child I was obsessed with dinosaurs. This has not changed, I am still pretty obsessed with dinosaurs. I play Exhibited (online Dinosaur breeding/battling game), I LOVE Disney's Dinosaur, Jurassic Park, The Land Before Time, Dinotopia, etc. and I actually feel like drawing some dinosaurs right now haha! I watched the first Land Before Time movie earlier today. It was SO nice to re-watch it after so many years. I remembered instantly why I loved it so much. sigh Oh, childhood... Also, the candy question... Pfff!! I eat more than I should XD

I still believe in Fairies and Santa. I love reading my old childhood classics, like Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie, Enid Blyton, Little Women, etc Same with my favorite movies from childhood- Annie, ET, The Never Ending Story, Disney movies, etc I loved Harry Potter, was obsessed with it and still love it- and that was all during my adult hood. Am totally into the Hunger Games. I still love and collect Cabbage Patch Kids- I only have 2 or 3 right now, but love them! I have Lady Gaga posters all over my bedroom walls, which makes me feel like a love sick teenager. I actually don't love candy that much anymore but chocolate- YES, or a beautiful cupcake with sprinkles or an ice cream sundae? Definitely! ~I love you forever and for always, baby girl~

I watch cartoons everyday, eat candy, and to this day I still collect figures. I am growing slowly but I am never going to stop doing these activities. I was scared of growing old but now I'm not. I feel the same as you...completely lost...confused...and the older I get, the worse it gets. I feel like something needs to change soon, something that makes me suddenly feel like a 'grown up', otherwise I'm gonna lose my mind! I guess certain things would help..like not living with my parents anymore! But I don't know. Something tells me I'd still feel the same way. I just honestly despise being an adult and everything that goes along with it. (well most things, I guess not everything ) The resentment I feel towards all of it is just too much sometimes. ETA: And yes, like a lot of people, I love Disney. I collect the classics on dvd and I almost have them all now! They're so special to me and make me feel something that nothing else does. Oh and Buffy, I so love Dinoauars too. I have all these little dino figures in my room, and I love watching anything and everything to do with them...and well...Jurassic Park...one of my all time favourite movies. (btw, the online breeding game you mentioned reminded me of Neopets. I love Neopets! and virtual pet sites in general, and I'm not ashamed to say so. ) But yeaah, honestly there's so much kid stuff I like, or that I do, etc, that I could go on forever... But it's not really that I would turn into a grown up and hate it. Because if I was a 'grown up' and felt like one, I'm sure I'd be perfectly fine and I wouldn't have these issues. It's the fact that I am technically an adult but I don't feel like one. But then yeah...I don't like a lot of things that come with being an adult. All the things that are expected of you just...annoy me. So maybe if I really felt like an adult, I ..still would have this issue of resenting it? I don't know! I'm confusing myself now. All I know is, I'm an adult and it SUCKS! Yeah! Thanks to Saiseh for the banner
