I recently stumbled upon a website called http://www.justin.tv, it's a rather cool website whereby just about anything
you can imagine is streamed! There are channels dedicated to certain subjects, and each channel has a chat box whereby you can talk to other (registered)
viewers of the stream.
I decided to look into how I would set up a stream myself and after a few software downloads, I think I've got it set up! However I have no idea how it is streaming seen as my internet is too slow to do anything else except stream when I am doing so. (I will provide a link at the end and will stream for the next half an hour - hour, PLEASE TELL ME HOW IT IS WORKING!)
So anyhows where is all of this going.. well I personally think it would be cool to have stream sessions perhaps several a week, maybe just once a week, whatever works, episodes could be shown and discussed, music videos, other footage, whatever we can get. It would also be nice to get others involved as I own a MAC only and this means that files such as .AVI don't appear to work when I stream them (despite me having the right codecs!) Also some of you may have footage that I may not have. Obvisously we'd have to limit it to a certain number of hosts to prevent possibilities of hacking or showing innapropriate material. But if somebody has good internet and is willing to do this with me I'd be quite happy (assuming the stream is not too laggy) to run a few sessions per week. Also assuming there is enough interest to warrant running it?
So what do you all think, nay or yay?
