As some of you may know, we had our meetup in New York City yesterday, occasioned by Bluebell's visit from Texas.
Moy Cullen also came down from Boston for the occasion, to join me and three other New York-area Xenites: Sais2Cool, melo0705, and Amazonagent. Unfortunately, two other people who had initially planned to join -- absinthe angel and Skye42 -- couldn't make it, and several other XOC'ers in the area (like Drawing Blood and Princess Deirdre) were either away or working that day. So it was only six of us but we still had a great time!
Before the full meetup, Sais, Moy and I met with Bluebell for a trip downtown to Battery Park and a ride on the Staten Island Ferry. It was a bit chilly, and poor BB only had a light jacket (temperatures in Texas are about 80 degrees right now and she'd already put away her winter clothes), but nonetheless, a great time was had by all. Sais gave us some very entertaining narration about New York history, particularly from the time of the Revolutionary War -- she's clearly missed her calling as a tour guide!
Here's Bluebell on the New York subway! Her first subway ride ever!
Some gorgeous views of New York harbor, including the Statue of Liberty!
