I hope you are feeling better Twinks. That is certainly ridiculous customer service. but please don't dump a convention and meeting up with all your
friends because of that. the travelodge i believe was very good and also there is a sheraton just around the corner that was as cheap as the travelodge.

warriorbarduk wrote: Jeff, seriously Im sorry to break this to you. I know how much everyone wants to be Scottish, but your English mate. A clear indication of your lack of Scottishness, is the lack of vodka in your pinapple juice. Im sure you'll get over your englishness one day, I know it must be tough on you, but you'll get through it, you stong! I aree that we need more ideas for fresh things to do, i made a thread a wee while ago just for fun, but they really do need to get some new ideas and just inject some more fun into the con. I think the problem with the autograph lines was the fact that it was volunteers and they were all very different. Some were very strict and some were just really nice so I think maybe next year abit more trainin should go into the volunteers. |

I've only just discovered this thread, and read about Twinks' ordeal.
I'm wondering if the hotel, by offering free accommodation, wouldn't have been admitting liability and opening itself to legal action. There must have been many precedents for them to wash their hands so promptly and callously, and I can't believe there weren't any rooms free. I think I'll just familiarise myself with the proper procedure to follow in case something similar happens again. The next time it could be me! I think I'll refuse to move from the lobby, and look sick and as if I'm going to throw up close to everybody entering the hotel. I don't suppose the LAPD would wish to sully their vehicles, and if the hotel staff push me outside, I'll make sure it's on video. Disgusting treatment! Unbelievable! |

Now Twinkle she works hard to call herself Scottish! As do some whisky bottles I have at home I'm sorry for all the troubles Twinkle and Shannon went trough. I didn't eat at the hotel's restaurants at all, except for breakfast at the Starbucks booth. And speaking of the Marriott, it seems they charged me $27 out of nothing! I must check it. |

Next year, I suggest Denny's or Burger King to save money. Or if someone gets a car, we can go to a grocery store or something to pick up some food.
I'm thinking bread and peanut butter and chips. I can live off that for three days and it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper than spending $30/day on food!

I don't think I'll be going anywhere outside of the hotel unless it's in the evening. Just no time.

Me neither, especially because it is the first time I visit LA.
