it's always so tough when animals get sick especially ones
you've had for a long time. I've lost many pets over the years but no matter how much it hurts at the tme evenually that hurt lessens (and what stays
is the love and memories I have of them). Every time I lose a pet I always think and say that I will never get another one, but I end up doing the oppiste
because I always feel a need for one as time passes and though the new pet will never be quite the same at least I get to tranfer my love to it and make new
memories with it.

. Animal companions are members of the
family and the grief we feel when they pass on is very real and painful. As others have already told you, its so tough when they go and its natural to think
that you never want to put yourself through that again. The first time we had to put down one of our cats, I felt exactly the way you do and thought I could
never go through that again.
That would be great.
My mom and I were devastated-particularly my
mom. Frankly, I don't want any more pets-and no one could convince me otherwise. 
You
get attached to them-and once they die, it hurts too much.
