The older thread (which I just unstickied and locked) was stickied for a few years, which is why I think people didn't see it. How about putting a link at the top of the forum so that people might notice it. I could do that and it could help make it more visible. Believe it or not, I never notice the links at the top of the page of any forum. I'm more likely to see the stickied posts in the forum. It's good for people who already know the thread is there (so they don't have to look for it). For those who don't know it's there, it's probably better to not have it sticky and just bump it when it sinks too low. Other suggestions off the top of my head: Make it a featured thread. Include information about this thread in welcome messages for newbies. (Actually it's already linked in the "new members please read" post.) Here's my suggestion. Keep it unpinned for a few days so that it's an active thread and a lot of people currently on the board see it. Then, make it sticky, feature it, and include a pointer in newbie welcomes. (I believe that's what Nutty was suggesting, to keep it unpinned for a few days.)
