I've seen a few people say that their preferred way of dealing with the finale is to switch around A Friend in
Need and When Fates Collide so that WFC happens post-FIN, and Xena is alive and reunited with Gabrielle in the
universe restored after Gabrielle burns the loom. Just the other day someone commented (I believe in Aurora's "re-ordering the episodes" thread)
that this works well because we never see Xena in the teaser of WFC.
I'm just curious how that would work. I've always assumed that when Gabrielle burns the tampered-with Loom of the Fates, the world is restored to its original condition -- the alternate timeline created by Caesar is undone, and everything changes back to what it would have been if Caesar had not tampered with the loom. In that case, if WFC took place post-FIN, Xena would be dead. Or do you think that the world in which Xena and Gabrielle find themselves at the end of WFC is yet another new timeline -- neither "our world" nor Caesar's world, but something different altogether?
