Something can be present.
For instance, I could say that "I was present at my sister's wedding." Another way to say that same thing would be that "I was there at my sister's wedding".
This thread has reminded me that English really can be a confusing language. Now we know that not only are there multiple slang terms for many words, but also many dictionary meangings for each word too. I'm glad this is my native language. I really applaud those of you who are learning English so well.

It looks like it might be a good source of slang terms. Not all of them are ones I use or have heard of. Many of the terms are so common though that I am sure you already know them, just from reading the posts here at XOC.
