Suppose Callisto had actually succeeded in killing Xena -- let's say, at the end of Callisto during the ladder fight. Or after that chariot chase in Return of Callisto. Let's even say that she managed to amp up her revenge and killed Xena in Intimate Stranger after making her watch her mother and fellow villagers burn to death, just like Callisto's own family burned in Cirra.
What would Callisto's reaction be? Would she be momentarily ecstatic but then feel empty, like she did after Solan's death? Would she feel that her life had become meaningless without the object of her obsession? Would she commit suicide, either directly or by undertaking some task that means a certain death? Would she try to redeem herself?
