Hi Guys...Well, the Con tickets are booked..(Sunday only cos it was a LOT of money for the whole weekend)..and tickets for Saturdays concert too..standing only!!..My friend Sue from Cheshire (whom I met on the Merpups site) and I are going together..We are staying in a 'bunkhouse' Hotel not far from the Concert venue..
My Suz is astonished that I..(she who was watching the grass grow when the sense of direction was handed out!!) is the navigator for Sue and me ..through London!!
I am a country girl at heart and big cities freak me out..too many people and traffic and noise..So for those that know London..and for those with nothing better to do than check it out..!!...Here is the itinerary for the Cheshire/Cotswold chapter of the XOC expedition...
Friday 2nd May 2008...........Sue arrives at Corner Cottage...supper and wine and chat..
Saturday 3rd May 2008.......Mel and Sue get cab to Stroud Station..about 5 miles away..travelling light..Train tickets bought by Sue on line..(A great saving for any Brit XOC member..if interested contact me and I'll send you the addie..) Arrive Paddington Station London...Walk across road to Con hotel for illicit check out of who's who...
Then Tube to Kings cross Station..just a few stops on the City Line..to Waldonia Hotel Islington.. Grab some food and then change for concert..considered the blue Taffeta with e 10,000 hand sewn sequins..but Suz threatened to divorce me..so Jeans and shirt I guess..Spect it'll be hot there..!!!..If I remember Lucy suggested copious amounts of deodorants at her previous venues....The Cab back to Hotel..
Sunday 4th May 2008.........Tube back to Paddington and thence to the Con hotel where I hope to meet up with some fellow XOC'ers I was going to wear a rose behind my ear..well actually I have no intention of doing so..I have some diginity after all..(!!!!!) so i'll just have a badge..declaring XOC!!!....1800 train back to Corner Cottage..more wine..and de -brief with Suz..
It is happening My friends..we are going to soak up some of the special and unique atmosphere and energy that is the Xenaverse..here in UK...
