The ratings are on a scale of 1 (worst/most disliked) to 10 (best/most liked). You don't have to "like" the character as a person to give them a high rating -- it can be a character who is a bad person but interesting, well-written, well-acted, etc.

-- but I think Xena had mellowed out considerably by the time she was reformed. I'm going by Warlord Xena
as shown in The Gauntlet -- the first episode in which we get to see the real Xena, IMO. (The Warrior Princess version is a bit of a tryout,
and still more vamp than warrior IMO.) Could I see that Xena with Marcus? Sure.
