Of course, I've been too busy with RL to think about this until now... Everything has been Xena, Xena, Xena...Xena conventions this, Xena conventions, that. And yet- NOT ONE mention of Hercules. All conventions have been Xena: Warrior Princess conventions. I know both would have been bundled together, anyway-but all conventions are exclusively "Xena". Has "Xena" finally eclipsed "Hercules-The Legendary Journeys"? It's understandable that guests would be tough to get-especially in Michael Hurst's case. "Hercules" has been dead for, what-8-9 years now? While "Xena" waned in popularity, transportation for guests got tougher. I remember a few years back that Danielle Cormack (Ephiny in Xena, for those who don't know) took the New York subway to a Brooklyn Xena con, whereas before, they got limo service. Kevin Sorbo is an enigma, though. "Andromeda" is long dead. Maybe he isn't interested in doing Creation conventions? Chime in with your thoughts on this.

I don't think finally is the word to use in that sentence. Not gonna discuss why or how, but Xena has always had a healthier fanbase and more of a cult-following than Herc ever had. So no I'm not surprised there's been no mentionings of Hercules conventions, I just don't think there's an audience for it.

Maybe it was the strong lead female role, maybe it was the relationship between Xena and Gab, maybe it was the better storylines (imo).... somehow Xena has just made much more of an impact than Hercules ever did. I think that's probably why the conventions don't exist, Xena fans might watch Hercules, and somebody might watch it occasionally if it's on... but there isn't really a fan base for HTLJ, other than Xena fans. And there might have been a hercules convention solo once. But I think that Creation realized that their bread and butter rested in Xena. So finally definitely isn't the word I'd use to describe it. Royal Posts: 6991 (02/02/08 6:32 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	There's defnitely a bigger lingering convention-going fan base for Xena than for exclusively Hercules (some of which relates to the show itself, and some to the opportunity to socialize with far-off friends) ... but that's OK, since Xena was a Hercules character. For comparison, they usually have Star Trek conventions, not "Next Generation-only" conventions or "Exclusively-Voyager" events. And remember that the recent Chicago Xena convention was actually part of a bigger Creation event for genre shows in general, to maximize attendance. There were tracks for Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars components too, and guests apart form the Xena people included Marina Sirtis , Katee Sackoff, Jamie Bamber, Jeremy Bulloch (the adult Bobba Fett) and Jonathan Frakes. At one point, I think the year after XWP went off the air, Creation bundled several of their accounts together for a "Strong Women of Sci-Fi" convention, that included some actresses from Trek, Farscape and Stargate, plus people like Claudia Black, Gina Torres, Vicky Pratt and Hudson Leick who have been on more than just one genre show. So the recent Burbank con with Rob (HTLJ's exec. producer) plus Lysia (Lucy) and the kid Franco (David Taylor) from "Amazon Women," Deianeira (ROC) from "Lost Kingdom," the production associate (Liz Friendman) from those two films, plus a guest star from several later eps of the tv series (Ted Raimi) and some people from another show thay all worked on too counts as a Herc convention. ~August~ Last Edited By: joxerfan 02/02/08 6:37 PM. Thanks for posting these, Michelle! Are they from your collection? A real walk down memory lane. So in 1999 it was still Hercules and Xena. When did it change to just Xena? (By 2001, of course, Hercules was no longer on the air.) Interesting, too, that the promotional poster for the 2001 con clearly emphasizes the X/G relationship as the main attraction.
