How to create a signature or avatar
To post a picture in your signature (at the bottom of your post), do the following:
Click "Navigation." Then click "Edit signature" and once you're in the signatures account setting, click "Add signature." Yuku enables you to create a signature using a "What you see is what you get" text and image editor, same as for posts on the board. To add images, click on the "Insert image" icon in the toolbar above the text box (to the right of the "broken link" icon) or the "Insert image from Photobucket" icon to the right of the "Insert image" one.
Please note that if you change your signature by editing your earlier signature, the signature in your older posts will change to the new signature. One way to avoid that is to rotate different signatures. Yuku allows you to have up to 5 signatures or 10 for a Yuku supporter. To get a new signature, add a new signature (in the "signatures account setting" panel) and select it as the default.
To use an avatar: click on "Images" at the top of the page (any page on the board). It will take you to "Top directory -- My images." If you don't have an album called "Avatars," please create it, then upload an avatar from your computer. It will show up in your profile and in your posts.
To change your avatar, go to your profile page and click on your avatar. You will be taken to the "Edit avatar" page where you can upload and select an avatar.
Rules regarding signatures and avatars
According to XOC rules, the maximum allowed height of your signature (text and images combined) is approximately 350 pixels. (A line of text in regular-size type equals about 10 px).
The maximum total width of your signature images (a single banner, or two or more images side by side) is 600 pixels.
* The maximum combined size of the image files in your signature and avatar should be 350 KB (e.g., a 100 KB avatar and a 250 KB sig, or a 150 KB avatar and a 200 KB sig).
We ask that you not link directly in your signature to pictures on sites with photo galleries such as Mike's Images, the Warrior's Hut, Michelle's Xena Gallery, and Xena Media Empire. Since the picture will be appearing in every post you make, it will be consuming a lot of bandwidth from the website. Instead, download the picture to your computer, then upload it to Photobucket or VillagePhotos. Photobucket is especially convenient to use since Yuku enables you to link a Photobucket account to your account, making it very easy to insert images. To link a Photobucket account to your Yuku account, click "navigation," then go to "settings" (in the "account" box on the left side of the page) and click on "Photobucket" in the menu at the top of the next page.
