I feel really really bad today.. It's quite a long story but I just have to tell you, because most people are so incredible idiots (sorry)... Well if you're eating or you're going to eat, STOP READING RIGHT HERE. . . . . We went to visit my grandpa with Mom in the morning and we had to stay for a while because a train was just about to pass by... And when it was there we noticed it slowed down just a little but then it sped up again and rode away... Anyway we didn't care much but when I looked at the railroad I saw why it slowed down... There was a dog, a shepherd dog, the train ran it over... So I jumped out of the car and ran to it and some woman who saw it too ran with me and the poor dog had its mouth all bloody and there was blood all over the railroad and we were like Oh my God... I've never seen that much blood in my life! My mom called the police or someone and for like half an hour nobody came! We took the dog away from the railroad just in case... Mom didn't want me to see it but I couldn't let the poor thing die alone, I thought we could save it, I sat down next to it and tried to caress it and speak to it, 'cus I just couldn't see it suffer... You know maybe if I talked to it it wouldn't feel the pain, it works for humans, doesn't it? Well... it won't tell me if it worked anymore... After 30 minutes FINALLY someone came, two cops and they were like "Who called us because of a DOG while we have lots of work to do?!" and I got really mad and the other woman too, and my mom asked the cop what if it were his dog lying there, and the cop answered "_My_ dog wouldn't be running around the railroad in the first place." ... tries my best not to shout awful words ... And then they started talking about some bulls!t like that the train should mainly care about being in the next station in time... And they told us that the vet has much work to do and he just won't do anything for the dog... I really want to punch someone in the face, a dog is dying because some stupid individual (I'm trying not to be rude, insert as many vulgar words as you please) can't frickin' put on the brake and they tell us they don't have time and they're* angry with us 'cus we told them to help a "useless dog"... I'm speechless. Well they threw the dog into their car and rode away... It was probably dead already... But I'm so angry because I know it had to suffer for so long! And there was blood everywhere... Phew... I've cried all day, mom says I should forget about it, but I don't want to... I want to remember how stupid people are... how they care about the others... How can someone say "It's just a dog"... I'm sick. For real. What I'm wondering about now is how, or even if, they're gonna inform the owner about what happened. "Hey, a train just ran your dog over and we did absolutely nothing to help it. No one should die alone. I can't really blame the train, though, since it could have been difficult to see the dog there. Who knows if they tried to stop or not... Well maybe the cops had a point there, that the train wouldn't probably be able to stop in time even if they saw the dog... But why did nobody come to help, it could have been alive now. I'll just wait till a train runs over a person and the same thing happens. Actually my grandpa told me it already happened once, at the same place. My dad was a railroad engineer who always warned me how it was next to impossible for a train to stop in order to avoid hitting anything. Of course he was thinking about cars and people. Very kind of you to stay with the dog. As for the police.....

I agree that the train probably couldn't have stopped on time...trains require a lot of stopping distance, that's why they always tell people never to try to beat the train, because if you mistime it the train can't stop. I do think the cops should have shown more compassion and caring for the dog though. (And what's that about the vet being too busy to take care of the dog? That's the vet's job!) We had that once with a cat some kids put a fire cracker in his mouth so he was just laing on the floor in shock dying. he was in a lot of pain so we killed it ourselves. I didn't see the actual incident happen, but what I did see was just a disturbing... I was on my way to work, and there was about 6 cars ahead of me... all of which are going around a foreign object in the road.. as I instinctively head into the other lane of traffic I see this "rug" lift its head... Someone had hit a dog, and just left it in the middle of the road, then others continued to just drive around it... I pulled off to the side of the road and picked her up with the help of another passerbyer.. We put the dog in his truck, and he took her to town to the vet... Apparently he knew who the owners were... People just don't thing that because its not a human it can't suffer...seemed more so then not, to hit animals... We would get called out at least 2-3 times a month to "dispatch" an animal.. Which means shoot it, and put it out of its misery... My training officer told me that just because it walks on 4 legs and not 2 does not mean that it should have to suffer... For a while I had a hard time pulling the trigger if the animal looked at me... Now, its still hard, but I am able to do it... Those cops sound like assholes.. and karma is a btch... I have no doubt that one day, when they need something, someone somewhere will tell them that they don't have time for them Second story...
