You asked some good questions, and I can't remember a similar thread.

As for Xena wandering, I think it was Xena who had to travel. She did get summoned a fair amount of the time (this or that King needs her help, for example), but she also had to keep moving because people usually didn't want her to stay very long. Back in the second episode, she considered the idea of settling in one place but found she had to keep moving. So in choosing to be with her, Gabrielle chose that life. Regarding Joxer finding them, that's something that the fans laugh at (the way that when a character's needed, he shows up). However, the way I've always explained it in my head is that the X:WP episodes were much more stretched out than week to week (and X & G were on the road together for more than five years before LDITE). So all the cameras had to do was to zoom in on the time when Joxer found X & G, but really, he'd been on the road asking for them for weeks, and they'd been traveling (with nothing more dangerous to do than to hunt food) for weeks. And yeah, I think that a lot of the people Xena helped insisted on paying her. (Lucyxena, I remember the episode in question, about Auto leaving his reward money behind...huh. Maybe there were times when Xena knew it wouldn't be right to accept a reward. They never had a lot of money, after all.) I like the idea of Gabrielle earning money telling stories. That's how it works in a lot of fanfics.

Um, when, exactly, did people in general stop thinking of Xena as evil and start regarding her as good?

Did the townspeople who would have followed Dahak ever build their world in another way?

When did the Elijans allow each other to kill in self-defense? We see Joxer and Virgil fighting, yet they called themselves Elijans.
