I recently watched a music video and it made me realize that I skipped ALOT of parts of the episodes. Now I really regret it because I'm interested in how many scenes there were and which episodes they were in. What were your favorites? Was there a certain scene/moment that made you a shipper or realized X/A were your favorite relationship on the show? Which scenes/moments stick out in particular? Any scenes make you upset about the relationship? I appreciate all the answers. ^_^ "Whatever happens, know that my love for you is endless."

Of course the eulogy scene from LDITE. There wasn't any moments that made me a shipper, but I came close The scenes that stick out are The Red Glow, the dreams from Eternal Bonds, and the "I'd expect nothing less" from POV. The eulogy scene from LDITE. Four Star General Posts: 3509 (03/03/08 1:02 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Oh, goodness, I'll just keep this short and sweet and list my top 5 (no particular order): 1) The bedroom scene in Ten Little Warlords - The first time we see evidence that Ares' attraction to Xena goes beyond lust for her body and warrior skills. I love his conflicted attitude toward fighting as a mortal, and how he mentions the possibility of changing for Xena (lovely foreshadowing of S5 ). I also think this is a turning point in Xena's feelings for him because she sees a side of him she never thought existed, and she realizes that, deep down (way deep down), he does have a conscience. 2) Ares' eulogy in Looking Death in the Eye - Such a beautiful speech; one you'd never expect to hear from the big bad GOW. It really shows the depth of his feelings for Xena and how far he's progressed as a character IMO, particularly when he admits, "I handled you all wrong. She (Gabrielle) knew what you needed - unconditional and unselfish love. And I couldn't give that to you." 3) Ares' sacrifice/Xena's "thank you" in Motherhood - Kind of self-explanatory. Ares finally learns to love "unconditionally and unselfishly," and Xena finally realizes his love for her is sincere and (IMO) forgives him for everything he's done to her in the past. If I had to pick the moment that turned me into a full-fledged shipper, this would probably be it. 4) The final scene of Coming Home - This scene never fails to turn me into a puddle of mush. The hand-holding, the smiles, the gentle kiss, the sadness in Xena's eyes when she tells Ares he's "bad for her" and walks away... 5) The Red Glow scene in Path of Vengeance - The most intimate moment between them with no mind games involved. Xena's orgasmic reactions to Ares' touch despite the fact that she's supposed to be pissed at him show what a powerful impact he has on her. As for scenes that make me upset about their relationship...I find the scene in Eve where Ares demands that Xena give him a child or he'll "bring down all of Olympus on your daughter's head" a bit disturbing because you could possibly equate it with attempted rape. But I think he was mostly just lashing out at her for making him think she was dead for 25 years, so ultimately, he probably wouldn't have gone through with it if she'd agreed. Not for the fight itself but for what is said. In Ares craziness there are very raw emotions and the way he expressed them was something you didnt see the GOW do every day, mortal or not. I also liked Xena's reactions to the things he said. Path Of Vengence, the red glow scene. Even while being mad as heck and thinking he was trying to get her daughter killed she still felt that little something that is between them. Xena and Ares just radiated heat and this scene shows it so well. Also the ending scene in POV, was very well done. He not only is ok with her thwarting his evil plans but is happy that he got to see her do it. They seem to come to an agreement at the end of POV and it is very sweet. I choose to view this as my X/A ending instead of the garbage that spewed out of SP. Speaking of sweet agreements, the end of YAT is high on my list. She is turned on by the power before love is brought back and after love is brought back she gazes wistfully while telling him that she'd expect nothing less. Probably one of the most beautiful moments between the two, IMO. It really is the closest I can recall of actually seeing her love for him on her face. There was no doubt at the end of YAT that her feelings for Ares were deeper than sexual desire. Visit My Site.

However, I think that I had shippery tendencies ever since I saw Ten Little Warlords and The Furies in my casual-fannish days. My favorite scenes... geez, I love nearly all of their onscreen moments together. But my top ones... Coming Home -- the fight and the tender scene afterwards You Are There -- apple temptation, Xena looking after Ares as he leaves Path of Vengeance -- red glow, scorpion/swan scene, scene at the end Motherhood -- "thank you" and the scene in the rain Eve -- all of their scenes! disturbing but very angsty and intense Livia -- again, all of them, can't choose Looking Death in the Eye -- "suicide" on the beach, cave scene Amphipolis Under Siege -- everything! Eternal Bonds -- the dream, the flashbacks... hm, pretty much everything, again God Fearing Child -- Tartarus scene Chakram -- all their scenes together! great interplay between them at the end when she regains her "darkness" Sacrifice I & II -- again all their scenes together The Bitter Suite -- Xena showing up in Ares' fortress, the tango The Dirty Half Dozen -- all their moments together (great chat in the woods esp. her first reaction to his appearance; the looks they exchange when she convinces him to ditch Agathon) The Deliverer -- scene on the beach The Furies -- all their scenes Ten Little Warriors -- all their scenes but especially the bedroom one Ties That Bind -- Ares is unable to kill Xena at the end The Reckoning -- at the end, Ares congratulates Xena on outsmarting him, and kisses her hand; also the scenes where he dresses her up in the "fantasy boudoir" The only scenes that upset me are the ones in Soul Possession -- they really butchered the characters and their dynamic, IMO. I'm also not too fond of The Xena Scrolls and Deja Vu, but then I don't take any of the "future" eps very seriously. Ares was quite nasty in some episodes of course, but to me that was all part of their love/hate relationship and his development. I've been thinking that someone needs to do a Xena and Ares video project. Like maybe a 1-hour video (that could be broken up into 5 parts on YouTube) that would tell the story of the relationship... maybe intersperse it with some clips of Lucy, Renee, and other PTB talking about Xena and Ares... hm, sounds like fun.
