never really thought much about it... However in a comedy of erros... Gabrielles tan on joxers white skin annoyed me cause you could tell it was a spray on

I didn't really notice but I'd have tp say I like the 'pale' tan better, it's more natural.

Xena didn't look her best during season one because her faux tan was terribly uneven espeically in episodes like RCoT and Callisto. But as I understand it, Lucy is very fair and wore tanner throughout the entire run of the series, it just became more natural looking from season two and onward.

I think the deal breaker for me was that in S1 she had a tan AND PINK LIPSTICK!!! What were they thinking?!

I loved Xena with her dark tan sooooooooooooo sexy. That is why the first season is one of my favorite.

I loved her naturally, but then the xena tan became such an iconic thing I don't think we could do without it hehe No matter how funny it looked sometimes.

I did not like a lot the darker skin color Lucy had in the first season, I like the more natural color she has in later ones

That's strange how it was done in the first and last seasons! Thanks for pointing it out.

I thought in S 1 that it was just a byproduct of the older film they were using before they switched over.

I love her with any colour! I noticed that on the season DVD 6 also. I thought it was because of the convertion to European all region players. But on the computer it was the same result.
But .............I turned my colour choice into natural and there you go ............no orange anymore.

I like her better with her normal/white/pale complexion because it´s more natural. I´m not a fan of tanned skin.

I thought the darker tan of s1 (not orangey) helped give Xena the proper exotic look. Remember she was outdoors a lot in a rather sunny country (there is a reason why so many houses in Greece are whitewashed with very light blue trim, and it has nothing to do with patriotism!).

I liked her with her lighter tan because to me the tan looked too dark for her, especially because she is naturally pretty light skinned. And maybe it was because of the lighting but at times to me she seemed either orange or it was obvious she had some help in the makeup department with the tan. And that's never good imo. I'm glad they lightened the skin tone later on in the series or rather the middle seasons.

lol@ armor tan! Actually I think the idea was that it wasn't a tan, it was her natural skin color, so therefore she didn't have tan lines. She did, however have rather pale armpits and side breasts in a few episodes!

eta: I didn't vote, I never notice her tan much, and I like her any which way. Xena is always just HOT.

I liked the more natural tanish, but i've gotta say for me the lipstick was a big focus too. Might be random but sometimes it was beautiful. I mean if ya look at her lips alot....I tend to do so :blushes: and sometimes it was also just a tinge of pink like a natural color, and sometimes it was all out red or bronze pretttty.

I was watching season 6 and it dawned on me that they had Xena with a deep orange-ish tan in both season 1 and 6. Did anyone like it, or was it too much? I have to go with no. The color didn't look right on Lucy. I think they tried to make her look more 'Greek' or maybe exotic, but I think she looked like that naturally.
