I just started reading a really good story yesterday and everything was progressing very nicely, the pacing was excellent and the characters were really intriguing. And THEN the author had uber Xena declare her love. Out of NOWHERE!!! They were still in their "getting to know each other" phase.

Hey, if we all published our unfinished stories there would be millions of Xena fan fics out there. But publishing unfinished is kind of insulting to the reader. and oh, another thing that annoys me. when a writer adjusts the character's way of talking to his/her own self. Or some other out of character way of speaking. HATE it with all my heart. I've got a few-sometimes it does stop me reading on, but other times, if the story is strong enough I can look past it.

Poor grammar and spelling. I'm not great at it but if it's consistantly poor it's off putting.
