Surprisingly even for myself, but I'd keep it the way it was in S6. Well, may be an idea further like definitely sleeping in the same bed. But i'd keep it subtle. And I'd put a limit for kisses - one per season .

I agree...part of the specialness of it is looking for and appreciateing the subtleties of subtext...that said, near the end, in season 6...a bit more maintext (even though it already was so close!), a few real kisses (or one BIG one, real one)...waking up wrapped up in each others arms...would have sufficed.

There I was, thinking this would be a total no-brainer to answer, but no! I'm all about maintext, I love the scenes where it's just so obvious that they are a couple. But part of what makes those maintexty scenes so great is that they're like a reward for all the time we get our feet tickled with the subtext. I think it would have been nice to explore the couplier side of their relationship a bit more. Like holding hands, the occasional kiss with out the pretext of some thing else.
I find it hard to say I would change everything because then it wouldn't be the show I love. But near 4-5th season I really didn't appreciate all these men around Xena, and her kind of cheating on Gabby. (It really was cheating!!)

But I would have liked all of this nearer the end when it was damn...

I'm torn and conflicted.

A lot of good suggestions have been made, and I can't make up my mind.

Part of me wants and needs that visibility so bad my pinky toe hurts. Part of me love and adore the ambiguity, because it offers a challenge and forces me as a watcher to participate in the interpretation/creation of the show.

Will tear my mental hair a little more before I reply.

I would have liked to have less ambiguity, but I still would keep the rivals, of both sexes.

I wouldn't have wanted an unequivocal full-blown relationship, even suggested, certainly not from the start. Not anything that would lower my anticipation level, of my hopes of a developing relationship. I mean the do they/don't they, will they/won't they was a teasing thread all the way through, basically keeping us hopeful throughout that there'd more demonstrations of...

interesting question and a hard one to answer
my first thought was "me wants all" some sex scenes ala L word, a bit of the hot stuff written in FF...
BUT it could have completely changed the show , so continuing in the lines of the show, some full hot kisses like dahllaz said, seeing x&g sleeping in one bed and without their boots on, I would have liked to see increased some of the touchings, oh and those looks they have--like in kindred spirits with the amazons...

I sort of have mixed feelings on this.

On the one hand, I think that in some ways it being such a sub-text thing made what they had actually more intimate. We got to see their relationship, rather than getting bogged down in the sex. Crap, I so suck at explaining.

Honestly, I would probably prefer to remove all their side relations with the boys. Perdicus, Ulysses, Marc Anthony, etc.

And get one good passionate kiss at one point. Probably in FIN, before the sun sets. I think that too many sex scenes or too many graphical moments would completely change the show. And I kinda like it the way it is..

Oh, I meant to add too that I while I wouldn't mind seeing a full-blown sex scene, I would have loved, like Hunter said, to simply see them in the lead up to being sexually intimate or the morning after with them all cuddled up and naked.

I would have liked to see more kissing even just kisses on the head as well as hugs, and one love making scene that was gentle and romantic and fades outs with a morning after scene, that would have been enough for me.

The naughty part of me wants to say "all of it!" The romantic part of me says that I would have loved to have seen it taken just a couple of steps further than it was on the show: an unarguable romantic, loving kiss, maybe a term of endearment clearly spoken "baby," "sweetie," something!, holding hands, nuzzling, or maybe like gravity said one of them pulling the other very sexily into their room at a tavern.

well... just as lara said. i think they should show do as much as xena does wit other characters, short of maybe borias on horseback... keep it decent, they don't need to be going at it like a pair of rabbits, but sometimes i get sick of the hints, and interrupted looks where they could be goin to kiss and...

You know that's actually a tough question. Mainly because I love the ambiguity of the show so I'm unsure how much I would be willing to change. It gives such a different depth to the characters and they're relationship, and gives us the ability to speculate in any way we want. You take away that you take away a part of the show I adore.

Probably be in the minority, but I'm not a fan of graphic, OTT sex scenes (Homo/hetro/ whatever). I prefer subtle. So waking up together, holding hands, "I love you", little kisses and being protective of one another would have been enough for me. I like to leave something to the imagination!

You don't have to consider any backlash from a possibly homo-reluctant audience. Neither do you have to consider any type of limits/boundaries on what either actress would do. It is all up to you. How far would you take their relationship in visual terms?
