I saw it wednesday and to be fair, I liked it. A lot.
Ok, the show is a thousand times better and the first movie was a lot better than this one but that was in 1998 during the X-Files 9 seasons.
I think it was pretty hard to come back after 6 years and play the character again. Gillian Anderson said herself that it wasn't as easy as she thought it'd be to play Dana Scully again. It didn't have the authentic X-files feel for me but ya know, I'm blaming the 6 years...

I saw it tonight and I'm still trying to decide whether I liked it. I'm probably the biggest X-Files fan there is so I had no question in my mind that I would love the movie. But I have to admit to feeling underwhelmed after seeing it. I don't know what it was. The plot was complex, at times it was too confusing to follow. Seeing Mulder and Scully again was of course the best part. Mulder with a beard, though? Not good. But I kind of expected more out of their relationship. Some...

Ok. I haven't seen an episode in years, but XF is XF, it will be in my heart forever.
I wasn't that thrilled knowing a new movie was to be done, and I expected nothing, I stayed away from pics and any kind of spoilers.

I went to see it tonight, and it's a shame. This movie is a joke, it's worse that anything, it's a non respect to fans, it's... I don't know, I don't have words. I left as soon as the movie ended, whereas I always stay til the end...

Hmm... Ya know, that really makes me angry, sitting here thinking about it: that Amanda Peet and xzibit were cast
and yet Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish were not.

I wonder if that was Chris Carter's decision, or if he was pressed to have ... topical ... or more popular names to draw in non/casual fans.

i pulled a double feature at the movies and after mamma mia me and darkx went to go see The X-Files with a friend who got us in for free(benifits of havin worked there )

pretty good. I gotta agree with DB though. i'm sure there could've been a better story line but it wasn't that bad. The main thing I wanted to watch was Moulder and Skulleys relationship and they aimed to please. I always love the dynamic...

I'm gonna see it wednesday when it comes out here! can't wait to see it, I'll probably love it...
I've only watched the first movie about 6 times or so , so I'll def love this Too bad I have only watched bits and pieces of the series, so I hope I can follow the movie.

Did anyone besides me see it yet? Given the poor reviews and iffy reception from fans, I was pleasantly surprised. The story wasn't the greatest thing TPTB ever created but I did like how the characters of Mulder and Scully were handled. And to people who were wondering if Skinner makes an appearance, yes. He even utters the "What have you done?" line heard in previews.

There is at least five TV trailers that I've seen. There is one with the voice over asking where Fox Mulder is. There is one with the guy saying the line with with video of him saying it and it sounded like Skinner, but considering the guy was African American...

It was heavily promoted on TNT last night because of the premieres of The Closer and Saving Grace.

BTW, I've forgotten what is Scully's first name?

I went to IMDB to see if Skinner is in the movie and sad to say he is not. Seems as tho the only originals we get are Mulder and Scully.

It's the same guy asking the question. I saw about four different previews last night while watching "The Closer" and "Saving Grace." All of them had the "I'm looking for Fox Mulder." One of them actually had the guy asking Scully where Fox Mulder is at and I'm pretty sure it's this guy: Alvin 'Xzibit' Joiner.

Mitch Pileggi isn't listed in the credits for the movie.

The guy that asks for Fox Mulder isn't AD Skinner but there's another part of the preview with a voice over saying "Mulder" that I think sounds a lot like Skinner.

Or at least it did to me.

I didn't see the last season or the finale so I found it interesting that someone asks after Mulder and Dr. Scully says she no longer works with Mulder - later in the preview she says she no longer chases monsters in the dark. Makes me very curious to find out...

So I was sitting in the theater today seeing Wanted and they advertised the X-files movie! I am so excited I almost fell out of my chair! I thought it was another like ripoff judging by the begining of the preview they called in the FBI but then I heard mulder call Scully and I was like going nuts. The people I was with nearly killed me. I loved this show as a kid and when the finale happened and all these years went by with put a movie just rumor after rumor i gave up on one. I can't...
