*laughing my head off* Well, it wasn't severe hallucination, since I noticed the clean floor and hallway, and the fact that the vacuum cleaner was kinda ajar on the holder. Maybe Abby vacuumed. Thanks, Abby!

That's as close to domestic as I approached during my whole visit.) Maybe it was Abby Dawg's long strange and strangely magnetic hair that picked up whatever dust you thought you had. Sorry that I haven't been in the post much since the weekend, alot of stuff has happened, and I've been trying to deal with it. Only thing I ask is to keep my mom in your thoughts. She's going thru some more tests next week, and she's stressing, so it's stressing me.

Well it is a good thing you are doing this now. I don't know how much longer we will have the "wide-open spaces" in the Southwest. But you have a very good chance of seeing just that in New Mexico.

Well, one of the sites I knew I wanted to visit before I even headed out from home was Chaco Canyon. I've seen so much about the ancient observatory there and I want to visit Pueblo cliff dwellings and whatever else I can. I want to stand where ancient peoples stood. I want to touch ancient rock and stone and walls. I want to stand where I can't see or hear a city or even a town. Not a modern one, anyway.

Very Good, Bama! I like the way you read and remember what you learned in your research. I do that a lot, too. Yep, the Hohokam in this area developed canals to irrigate their crops. Many of those canals were used for future waterways as other cultures moved into the area. There is a dig in the Phoenix city limits, somewhere around McDowell and maybe 16th st. (just guessing at the location) that explains much of that. Just thought I would mention its existence in case you would like to visit...
