D'oh! How could I forget Caesar?

Karl did a great job as Caesar; one of my favorite Caesar moments is in....crud. Forgot the name of the episode.
The one where the Gaul is captured and Xena is going to switch him for Crassus. Anyway, the moment when Caesar realizes what has happened. Oh yeah, I forgot Bellerophon. He was good. Actually could have made an interesting recurring nemesis for Xena in S6.

I found Alti kinda boring precisely because of the "pure evil" thing. Though I admit, making people relive past pain was a pretty scary trick. I just wish they'd given that power to a more interesting, less one-dimensional character.

Oh and my favorite one-off villain was Talmadeus in The Greater Good. He was smart, genuinely dangerous, and convincing.

Ohhhh this is too hard. So I'll just list them. Alti, Callisto and Hope. Like LK said I would list Ares but I don't really consider him a villain.

Tied between Callisto and Caesar. Callisto had depth even though she was psychotic, and you couldn't hate her no matter how evil she was. She was a great villain and character. But Caesar manipulated Xena so well it was chilling.

I go for Alti...pure evil...I always felt sorry for Callisto, and I was sorry for Hope too, because her mummy rejected her (though only to save her life) Caesar was just a man with a plan. *L*

I don't know, cause they're both such independent characters that I don't know if their interactions would really have worked if they'd played that card. But in this they managed to work together while alone and they did sorta complete each other.

I'm with Jolly--Callisto and Caesar, tied. (LK, how could you forget Caesar???) I do have to disagree with Jolly, though, about their team-up in Ides of March--I found it unsatisfying. Partly because I felt Callisto was past her prime by that time, and partly because I felt they could have done much more with the interaction between the two of them than they did.

It's a tie between Callisto and Caesar.

Callisto was probably the better villain of the two in the sense that she was a more complex character. But the History lover in me loved what they did by including Caesar and making him in many ways responsible for EvilXena. No matter they were both brilliant and the Callisto/Caesar tag-team in Ides of March was perfection.

Hm...actually, should I decide the best villain or my favourite one? I don't like villains ... though, of course, there's no good without evil! I agree with all that's been said about Callisto ...

I, personally, have always been frightened of Alti, probably because of her powers being so great and supernatural. My vote for the most annoying and hated villain...

And yeah, it's interesting that all of the recurring (and best) villains were women.
