the fact that Xena was having a love affair with Gabrielle. She said: Xena is a lesbian. This was the reason why she did not like it, and she did not carry on
watching the show.

			<description><![CDATA[ I think if I had of watched the show past the age of 14 it would&#39;ve registered with me (I&#39;m 19 now) but I watched it when I was 10,11, and 12
(originally) and started rewatching at 17 (I saw the subtext immediately - saw altered states) but under that age for me I probably would never have noticed, I
just didn&#39;t have a detector, and yet I watched it and loved it, and other shows which now I have gone and can see gay references, but I didn&#39;t
recognise them in the sense of... ]]></description>

sexual difference because it was never spoken of. I remember watching campy shows like Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Wonder Woman, Bionic Woman, etc. and

			<description><![CDATA[ I think there is also the issue that as you grow up you&#39;re very unaware of gay relationships, though visual awareness of lgbt couples and people has
improved on television. When I was growing up it was literally unheard of and therefore your brain does not even compute that such a relationship can exist
until you get a bit older, more aware of your own sexuality and how broad it all can be.. not just necessarily that teenagers see friendship as more important.
