Well, i was really afraid of looking smug mainly because i WAS getting a bit cocky when i was training, which is why i made myself quit because i was losing the discipline that was required and i was talking back a lot, and not taking orders very seriously, and i realized that although he didn't care, there was a reputation to maintain and i was possibly making him look bad. :\

I know that the other black belts didn't mind...

Well, you could always ask him what he thinks would be the better image to use, if he thinks the other one looks too smug. I like it, though. Doesn't necessarly me you are smug just that you've got spunk and personality. And individuality. I think it's better than being simply straight faced or smiling a lot, I guess.

And DB, that's a good question, if I recall correctly, it was a bit of half and half, although I don't think anyone actually 'smirked'. It was more like one of those "I'm posing for a picture" smiles. Some even took fighting poses and I was debating on whether I should do that, but I don't think I can pull off an intelligent angle without an actual photographer.

Are the other black belts smiling or frowning in their pictures? If it's the latter, then go with the second photo. It'd be a nice change of pace.

now it's 6 and 6! seems that everyone's just as torn as i am! i'm glad you're all enjoying the evil smirk! the only thing i'm worried about, is that one of my friends told me that i risked looking a bit too cocky, or smug, but i dunno, i think it convey's the spirit of xena in me! i do keep her insanity after all...

Alright, so here's the deal. My Tae Kwon Do Master's been harrassing me for about two years now for a picture to put up on his wall of black belts, and I guess after two years, I got tired of hearing it and decided to get off my ass to do it. I took a couple of pictures and I've managed to narrow down to two, but I can't decide which of the two I want to/should give in. Help me pick!
